No matter how many YouTube tutorials we watch, blending eyeshadow is still one trick we’re yet to master. When it comes to crafting a perfect smoky eye look, which involves layering on certain eyeshadow shades in different areas of the eye socket, even the most straightforward tutorial doesn’t look quite right when applied.

The US makeup brand has a TikTok account filled with extremely helpful makeup hacks and tips, including advice on how to achieve plumper looking lips and how to avoid fallout when using eyeshadow.
The particular video we’re referring to teaches you how to achieve a blended smoky eyeshadow look without the need to master the blending technique. To do so, you simply apply four eyeshadow shades in lines across the lid. Apply a dark brown shade at the outer corner of the eye, followed by a slightly lighter shade. Then, pop on a line of shimmery gold, ending with a swipe of a lighter shade in the inner corner.
Then, grab a blending brush and blend those all together — don’t worry, this doesn’t require any fancy technique. Just swipe the fluffy brush back and forth to diffuse the shades and mix them together. And, you’re done! You should now be left with a complex looking lid, but it really only takes a few seconds to complete. The dream!
