H&M has been collaborating with high-end designers for years, bringing couture styles to the masses. Each partnership brings a unique touch to the H&M brand, combining the designers’ signature aesthetics with the mainstream brand’s affordable prices.
Most recently, news of H&M’s collaborated with iconic brand Mugler. Dropped pm May 11, 2023, the capsule collection includes womenswear, menswear, and accessories. The recurring silhouette of the collection is strong, big shoulders and a tight focus on the waist, an ode to the curves and lines of the body, a tribute to confidence.
The anticipated collab throws back to the iconic glory days of ’80s and ’90s while highlighting much-loved modern styles as seen on icons like Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion and Kylie Jenner. And Charli XCX. She was spotted wearing the Mugler H&M trench coat ($699), Mugler H&M top ($149) and Mugler H&M leggings ($149) at a dinner hosted by H&M in Palm Springs during Coachella.
You can shop the full H&M x Mugler collection here.
Let’s have a look at some of H&M’s past collaborations.
Some of the most notable collaborations include Karl Lagerfeld, who kicked off the designer partnerships with his mix of high fashion and affordable pieces. Stella McCartney followed with her feminine and sustainable designs, while Viktor & Rolf brought their avant-garde style to H&M with oversized bows, ruffles, and prints.
Roberto Cavalli’s animal prints and Matthew Williamson’s bohemian style were next, followed by Lanvin’s elegant and sophisticated designs. Versace brought its signature bold prints and glamorous aesthetic to H&M, while Maison Martin Margiela’s collection was characterised by its unconventional materials and deconstructed designs.
Alexander Wang’s urban and sporty pieces were a hit with H&M shoppers, and Balmain’s glamorous and luxurious collection featured ornate detailing and intricate embroidery. Kenzo brought bold colours and animal prints to H&M, while Erdem’s romantic and feminine collection featured delicate lace and floral prints.
With each designer collaboration, H&M continues to bring a touch of luxury to its customers at an affordable price point. We love.
