French Tips Are the Unofficial Manicure of the BET Awards

The 2023 BET Awards are in full swing, and while the best beauty looks of the night are still popping up, there’s one trend we’ve continued to see over and over: the always-popular french manicure. The trending style has been a favorite among celebrities for decades and has had quite a resurgence this past year.

Countless iterations have popped up over the last few months – from simple twists on the classic like the “vanilla” french manicure to more complicated looks like the “shadow” – so there’s truly a look for everyone. Over the last year, it’s been the one nail trend we’ve continued to see over and over on social media, and it’s also the manicure of choice for countless celebrities, including Lizzo and Cardi B. While the manicure traditionally features a clear or pink base with white tips, spinoffs of the classic incorporate anything from bright neon colors to complicated nail art.

Tonight at the BET Awards, we’ve seen a classic pink and white style on Elise Neal, an ombré french on Janelle James, and a double french manicure on Summer Walker – and the fun looks just keep coming.
