Kat Graham and Darren Genet have called it quits a year after getting engaged. Graham, who famously starred in “The Vampire Diaries,” announced the news on social media on July 12. “Hey everyone. After many years together, Darren and I have chosen to no longer be together,” she wrote. “The engagement ended a few months ago. He’s a great guy and we wish each other nothing but the most happy and beautiful life.”
According to People, Genet popped the question around April 2022. At the time, a source told the outlet that Genet had proposed to Graham while the two were on vacation in Mexico for his birthday. “Kat is madly in love and couldn’t be happier,” the source said.
Graham and Genet began dating in 2017 after meeting on the set of “The Vampire Diaries,” People reported. The actor kept the couple’s relationship fairly private over the years, but in 2021, she shared some PDA-filled photos of the two on Valentine’s Day. “Happy Valentines Day lovey. @dijonnaise911,” she captioned an Instagram post. She also posted a Christmas selfie of the two sharing a sweet kiss in front of a Christmas tree. The pair also stepped out at Time’s Person of the Year reception in NYC in December 2022.
