7 to Shop: Including a Reversible Jacket and Black Mules That Go With Everything
TikTok has made it easier to see fashion from around the world — and as I’ve mentioned in previous Seven to Shop columns, like many, I’ve become fascinated with capsule wardrobes and slow-fashion for an effortless way to style outfits and feel more put together.
With that in mind, these items I’ve been wearing constantly in the past month fit that bill. From a reversible jacket that’ll give you cost-per-wear, to mules I wear almost daily, this is my edit of the best pieces to shop this month.
Adanola Cotton Pull On Pants, $117
The blue and white striped pants are sold out, though the solid white or black options are still available. I saw these blue and white striped pants all over TikTok a year ago and signed up for Adanola’s newsletter to be notified when they were back in stock so make sure you sign up to find out when they’re back. They’re nice and thick to keep you warm in winter.
Nimble Two Way Cropped Jacket, now $149 (was $209)
This thin jacket can be turned inside out to make it look like two different styles — quilted cream or cappuccino. I sized up, getting a medium for a boxier fit. I also like it’s super light so I can easily pack it in my suitcase when I’m travelling.
Rollie Nation Mule Step, $269.95
These are my everyday shoes — I wear them to work and to run errands on the weekends. I like that they look like boots from the front, but have the ease of slip-ons. They make most outfits look more polished.
Uniqlo Anya Hindmarch Cashmere Sweater, now $149.90 (was $199.90)
This turtleneck jumper is a collab between Uniqlo and British designer Anya Hindmarch. It looks like a basic jumper at first glance but when you look closer you see the two eyes on one side of its neck. I like that playful touch. It’s cashmere, super soft, and has long sleeves, giving it an oversized, cosy feel.
Shona Joy Rita Patch Pocket Mini Dress, $280
The high-neck and boxy fit of the mini dress makes it edgy, while the dark denim makes it classic. It hasn’t been warm enough in Sydney to wear it as a mini dress yet, so I’ve paired it with jeans in a lighter wash.
Rothy’s The Flat, $230
Ballet flats are back in style, and these are a great option. Their price reflects the fact they’re made with flexible knit from recycled bottles and can be popped in the wash (I haven’t tried it yet). I put in a Hollywood Fashion Secret Shoe Comfort pad at the back of these immediately before wearing so I wouldn’t risk getting blisters as I usually do with flats.
Nike Women’s Woven Cargo Trousers, $100
One of my favourite outfits for Australian Fashion Week was these trousers with a black top from Third Form and black heels from Alias Mae. I’m not the best at pairing pieces together to make outfits, and I felt proud of the juxtaposition of chill and dressed up.
