Bow Down, ‘Cause Lupita Nyong’o Looked Like Royalty at the Critics Choice Awards

Attendees at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday were in the presence of a real-life goddess, and that goddess was Lupita Nyong’o. The star, whose role in Us nabbed her a best actress nomination, walked the blue carpet looking like absolute royalty, per usual. Wearing a brown Michael Kors gown, Nyong’o amped up her look with some seriously gorgeous hair and makeup.

Celebrity hairstylist Vernon Francois used Matrix products to help Nyong’o put her penchant for bold hair accessories front and centre, giving her an updo complete with golden wiring that fittingly mimicked a halo or crown and matched her metallic jewellery. The shiny accents didn’t stop there, as the actress also opted for shimmery bronze eye shadow and liner, in addition to a bold red lip.
