I’m a Beauty Editor These are the 13 Best New Products Launched in September
It’s official, summer is over, Autumn has arrived and we are a hop, skip, and a pumpkin spice latte away from Christmas. Before you settle into cosy season and pick your favourite beauty advent calendar, there’s been a plethora of new beauty launches hitting the shelves this month and some of them have made it into my permanent collection.
You’re not alone if you find as the weather dips you’re searching for a dopamine hit to perk you back up (I’m firmly part of that camp too!) and although I’m not suggesting you buy anything you don’t need, what better way is there to brighten your day than with a new skincare product or hair perfume?
I love this change of season, because as we enter the last few months, it feels like the perfect second chance at for a new start, whether that’s to invest in your skincare routine or level up your self-care habit, there is something launching this month that could help set you up for the run up to Christmas. In the name of research, I decided to try as many as I could so I could review the ones worth spending your money on, some of my favourites include a facial oil and a brand new serum which de-puffs as it soothes your skin.
Within the new launches is an oil-busting moisturiser from one of my favourite dermatologist-approved skincare ranges, a new foundation stick which will replace both your base and your concealer and a new skincare range, launched in the UK, which has me really excited.

Merit The Minimalist in Jute
This new shade of Merit The Minimalists speaks to me personally on so many levels. I’m not a massive foundation wearer – I didn’t own a foundation until I was in my late 20s – as I prefer the look of natural skin texture and have been fortunate enough to rarely suffer from blemishes or acne. However, I do use and adore concealer. My main issues have always been dark circles under my eyes and uneven patches so this stick is ideal for targeting smaller areas, it blends like a dream and this shade hits my medium cool with hints of pink undertone skin like it was designed for me. This wasn’t the only new shade to launch this September, there is a further 8 shades added to the already impressive 22.
Skin Diligent Regulation Serum
One of the only times in my life I did experience spots was during pregnancy and the year postpartum, yet this is the time that the majority of high strength acne fighting ingredients can’t be used. Lots of acne treatments contain hormone disruptors and although it hasn’t been tested during pregnancy and breastfeeding (due to the inability to put this group at risk during this vulnerable time) it is recommended to avoid such ingredients at this time. That’s what really appeals to me about this serum, the epigenetic formula will not disrupt hormones, it contains over 97% natural ingredients and it is safe to use for all.
Nudestix Stax All Over Color Blush Balm
I love a cream blush and bronzer, I find them an instant pick me up and tend to use them when I want to give my skin a bit of a wake up call, without applying a full face. One of the main things I love about this blush is the packaging as the lid is magnetic so it immediately seals – stopping it getting dry – and also means you are less likely to loose the lids. It also means if you buy multiple shades the colours will all stack on top of one another making them very compact and ideal for travelling.
Disney Fantasia x Pleasing L’Apprenti Sorcier Nail Polish Set
What’s not to love about Harry Styles’ Pleasing nail varnish and a Disney Fantasia collab? It’s kitsch and collectable, there are three different sets and all contain bold bright colours in the aesthetically pleasing, erm, Pleasing bottles. This launched in stores this weekend but will be available online next week.
Jurlique Calendula Face Oil
As the temperature drops I always feel like my skin needs an extra hit of hydration and this oil is ideal. It is made with 100% natural ingredients including calendula oil, which is suitable for sensitive skin, and feels very soothing. I like to warm it up in my palms before gently massaging into my face and neck.
Dr Idriss Soft Wash
Dr Idriss just launched in the UK and I have to say I am super impressed by all the products I have tried so far. Just as I believe a cleanser is the foundation for a good skincare routine, I think a beauty range can be judged on its cleanser offering too. This can be used all over the face includiung the eyes, it doesn’t sting but removes all eye makeup and it leaves skin feeling clean without any tightness. It’s made it into my shower for my morning cleanse which is always a good sign.
UKhair Repair Mask
I can’t even explain how much I love a hair mask. I don’t think there is anything more indulgent that smmothering your hair in a hair mask and plotting up on the sofa for the rest of the evening. It is a clear sign that you are going nowhere and it means I can switch my brain off and relax. I also find since using regular hair masks my hair is stronger, healthier and tends to last longer in between washes. This UKhair range has caused quite a stir as people are finding it is making a real difference to their locks. This mask is ideal for those looking for a post-summer pick me up and I gave the shampoo and conditioner to a friend who has thinning hair and she messaged me saying she could really see a difference after only a few uses.
I’ve made a switch recently to natural deodorant after flirting with it a few times over the years and then never sticking to it. Now I have given my body time to adapt I have noticed my natural body odour has significantly changed and even on the days I don’t wear deodorant there is minimal scent. I have used both the Fussy Cloud Nine and Night Tales scents and find them so much nicer than traditional deodorant that can smell overwhelmingly chemical based. These mini’s are so cute and perfect for sticking in your handbag if you want to reapply on the go.
Gisou Honey infused Hair Perfume in Lavender Berry
I think I’ve become a bit addicted to the scent of this hair perfume. It is fresh, yet comforting, it lingers for hours afterwards and it doesn’t weigh the hair down at all. It has stopped me wanting to use my actual perfume as I don’t want to overshadow this gorgeous scent.
This newly launched moisturiser joins the brand’s rather impressive line up (which I have rated here) it is ideal if you have oily skin or prefer a matte finish.
Jones Road Miracle Balm in Pinky Rose
This new shade of the bestselling Jones Road Miracle Balm joins the other 12 in its attempt to transform the base market. Once you break the seal, this needs to be dug out not applied like a cream blush or bronzer, and applied to the skin with your fingers. It leaves a glow which is almost undetectable, yet looks like your skin on its best day. I used this recently on holiday, when I applied minimal or zero base and I really loved how it looked on my skin.
Second entry for Dr Idriss, but this is my new obsession so I had to include it too. This serum, which contains arnica to help inflammation, comes with a silver roller applicator that you roll over over your face spreading the serum across you skin as you depuff your face. This is ideal if you wake up feeling puffy or for travel as it really does make a visable difference to your skin.
Arkive Headcare The Immaculate
I’m the first to admit I have a pretty low maintenance beauty routine, haircare included, so when I saw Arkive was launching a new scalp cleanser, I was hesitant. However, after swapping out my shampoo for the cleansing fluid and following Adam Reed’s simple at-home scalp massage technique, I’m happy to share that my hair feels and looks cleaner than ever. I liked that it wasn’t adding another step into my routine and was instead just replacing shampooing. I only wash my hair a couple of times a week so making sure my scalp gets a good cleanse is vital. I’ll definitely be using this from now on!
