Bella Hadid is bidding farewell to 2020 with arguably the coolest hair trend of the year: chunky highlights. Just ahead of the holidays, the model was spotted in New York City sporting new face-framing orange highlights tucked into her signature sleek updo. Chunky highlights made a huge comeback earlier this year, and Hadid joins celebrities like Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lopez, and Kylie Jenner who’ve previously rocked the nostalgic trend – which, by the way, isn’t going anywhere in 2021.

Upon further investigation (aka stalking Hadid’s Instagram Stories), it looks like the model’s fresh color is the work of celebrity hairstylist Evanie Frausto, who’s also responsible for many of Hadid’s ’90s-inspired ‘dos. She shared a glimpse of the dye process on her Instagram Monday, and debuted the finished look the following day. Hadid most recently played around with another very trendy style – the shag haircut – so it’s no surprise the model changed up her look once again.
