Once a ’90s beauty icon, always a ’90s beauty icon. Cindy Crawford re-created her 1992 Pepsi Super Bowl commercial – voluminous hairstyle and all – for an unexpected project that dropped on Aug. 1. The supermodel made a nostalgic cameo in the music video for That Chick Angel’s “One Margarita” remix featuring Saucy Santana, and her teased hair is transporting us back in time.
The video kicked off with Crawford emerging from a convertible sports car wearing a white tank top, denim shorts, and bouncy hair inspired by her iconic look from the aforementioned Pepsi ad. After strutting in slow motion as onlookers gawk, she tossed back a Casamigos tequila margarita before That Chick Angel bursted onto the scene and started singing her TikTok-famous song.
Celebrity hairstylist Peter Savic brought Crawford’s look to life for the shoot, giving her a side part, subtle waves, and lots of lift at the roots. We can only imagine how much hairspray was required to maintain the body she had while filming. When sharing a snippet of her cameo on Instagram, Crawford wrote, “Couldn’t stop laughing when I first heard this song – and had so much fun making a cameo in @thatchickangel’s music video. The outrageous and campy lyrics make this the kind of summer song that reminds us not to take it all so seriously.”
This isn’t the first time Crawford has revisited her Pepsi ad from the early ’90s. In 2002, she rocked a similar backcombed hairstyle for a Diet Pepsi commercial, and she also spoofed it on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” in 2016 following the Super Bowl. See how flawless and full-of-volume Crawford’s hair looks in each video ahead.
