Dua Lipa’s “Vanilla” French Manicure Pairs Perfectly With Her Sexy Black Gown

Dua Lipa wore one of the biggest nail trends of the moment to the Versace fall/winter fashion show in West Hollywood on March 9. On the fingertips of the singer was a chic and sophisticated “vanilla” french manicure, which paired beautifully with her form-fitting, all-black gown.

Lipa was the epitome of Old Hollywood glamour. Her hair was styled in a deep, dramatic side part and loose curls, and she wore soft, understated makeup. The “vanilla” french manicure, which was done on short, oval-shaped tips, was the cherry on top. A spin on the “american” manicure, celebrity manicurist Julie Kandalec previously told POPSUGAR it’s “where the white of the nail is a semi-sheer shade as opposed to a stronger block of color seen in a traditional french manicure.”

In true form, the differentiating line between the nude base and the white smile line at the tip of Lipa’s nails wasn’t easy to spot at first glance. The entire nail almost looked to be painted in a transparent white jelly shade. This made the already minimal nail design look even subtler.
