After Trying Emma Lewisham’s Skin Reset Serum, I Can Confirm That It Lives Up to the Hype
In just two short years, New Zealand brand Emma Lewisham has made a lasting impact on the beauty industry. In that time, Emma Lewisham has established itself as a market-leading brand in skincare, while also changing the way it approaches business to become the world’s first certified carbon positive beauty brand.
I’ve been a fan of this brand since I first tried its products and the way the team at Emma Lewisham conducts its business — which includes a 100 per cent circular business model — has only increased my affection for the brand as a whole.
One of the brand’s most loved products is the Skin Reset Serum ($140) — a milky serum that helps to even out skin tone, minimise hyperpigmentation and reduce the visible signs of ageing. This baby has cult status, with users swearing by its ability to brighten skin while drastically reducing hyperpigmentation.
While I’m fortunate enough to not suffer from a great deal of hyperpigmentation, I was interested to see how this product, which is made with 100 per cent natural ingredients, would perform compared to some of my other favourite brightening serums.
Upon first use, I was surprised at the formula of the serum. Instead of a glassy liquid, the formula is thick and creamy which isn’t the norm for many serum products. The product sinks into the skin well and doesn’t need a lot of rubbing to encourage it to do so.
The product doesn’t have much of a scent (rather a fresh smelling aroma) and is overly pleasant to use. And, after four weeks of trialling the product, I’m really happy with the results I’ve experienced. The small patch of pigmentation on my cheeks has faded and overall, my skin feels smoother and the texture of my pores is more refined.
My skin looks brighter as well — I’m also a loyal vitamin C user each morning so that plays a role too — but overall I’m stoked with how the product has smoothed out my skin tone and refined the texture. This brand uses scientifically proven ingredients that are natural, naturally derived or nature-identical, which shows just how effective these can be.
When you take into consideration the ingredients, the incredible results — especially for those with hyperpigmentation, with 77 per cent of women rating Skin Reset effective at reducing hyperpigmentation — and the fact that the brand is both carbon positive and offers reusable packaging (you simply buy a new refill when you run out), it makes buying this product a no brainer.
While it is on the more expensive side coming in at $140, serum products do usually carry a higher price tag. The research and development that has gone into this product makes the price, in my opinion, worth it — especially for those who are looking for a way to manage their hyperpigmentation.
If you’re interested in trying Emma Lewisham, the Skin Reset Serum is a great place to start. Not only will you be doing good things for your skin but you can rest easy knowing that your product consumption isn’t a drain on the environment.
