Fresha has confirmed, via one of its nail experts Eva Benjamin, the best week to book your festive manicure is between the 12 and 18 of December as this should keep your tips in check for the entire period – especially if you get gel, BIAB or acrylics.

However, this doesn’t mean you’re sorted, according to Benjamin, many of those precious appointments are already taken. “My December was fully booked by the end of October! I often get my regular clients as well as people booking one off Christmas nails,” she says.

The issue is that for some, this is the only time of year they hit the salon. “You’re competing with twice as many clients for an appointment,” says Benjamin. Considering nail appointments can be just as effective as therapy in helping our mental wellbeing is a tad sad and should possibly be on some people’s New Years resolutions for 2025.

Well, nails are forever, not just for Christmas after all.

If you do manage to nab an appointment then the next task is deciding what style to have, whether you’re a theatre-fan and it’s all about Wicked nails this year or you prefer to go for a classic burgundy hue that is so hot this season, the choice is endless. We have selected some of our favourite holiday nails here, as well as wintery designs if you prefer a subtle approach to nail art.

Benjamin also has this golden tip to help your manicure last long: “Do not use your nails as tools – no peeling stickers off Christmas presents or untangling fairy lights!” Wearing gloves while cleaning and washing is also important to keep and protect the shine on your nails.”
