King Charles III’s coronation took place on May 6, 2023, with many members of the Royal family showing up in the latest fashions. Not only were the outfits quite literally fit for a king and queen, but so were the stunning makeup looks and hairstyles. For the latter category, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, and Princess Charlotte shared a sweet mother-daughter moment that you may have missed.
The duo walked into Westminster Abbey alongside Prince William and Prince Louis wearing matching floral headpieces, which were bejeweled with crystals and silver bullion. The similarities in their looks didn’t stop there, as the pair also wore nearly identical braided bun hairstyles. Middleton’s version of the look featured curled ends pinned into an intricate style, similar to a chignon, that wrapped around the back of her head. Charlotte’s hairstyle, on the other hand, was located in the same position but featured small braids. The twinning beauty moment was only accentuated by their complementary outfits, which included floor-sweeping capes.
Let these coronation looks be all the proof you need that buns are one of the most versatile hairstyles that you can wear. From the slicked-back style that’s making the rounds on social to the “balletcore” bun that feels both nostalgic and fresh, the hairstyle is fitting for any occasion.
