I Tried Luna Daily’s The All-Over Deodorant and It Might Have Just Made My Summer

I am a woman that sweats more than the average and, as a result, the summer months can be a little uncomfortable for me. While I understand everybody sweats during the hot weather and it’s nothing to be ashamed of, I seem to be much clammier than most and will find myself reapplying deodorant throughout the day. I can usually be found constantly checking for sweat patches and will avoid wearing anything remotely clingy until the autumn chill starts to creep in again.

While most of my friends and family enjoy lapping up the sun and making plans to be outdoors for any occasion, I will spend most of my summer moaning about the heat and finding ways to keep cool. It’s not just my armpits that are a concern either – during particularly humid weather, I get very clammy hands, inner elbows and, randomly, my knees can perspire, too. As well as feeling hot and bothered, sweaty skin can be painful and the rub between my thighs can cause a sting like no other. All in all, being sweaty is not fun and can put a real downer on my sunshine-filled days.

When I discovered that Luna Daily was launching a full body deodorant, I just had to give it a go. I have tried an endless amount of deodorants and while I’ve found a couple that keep my pits dry, I was yet to find anything to keep the rest of my body feeling equally as fresh all day, too. Some may be confused with why we even need a product like this and might be against the idea of full-body deodorants, but when you’re constantly clammy like me, anything to take away stress and concerns is welcome with open arms. I have swiped my usual under-arm products over my knees and elbows before in the past, but the product can feel a little heavy and sticky and I’m not massively keen on applying chemical-based formulas all over.

While use-anywhere deodorants aren’t exactly brand new, they often come in a cream-based formulation which can be messy and time-consuming to apply, but Luna Daily The All Over Deodorant (£14) comes in a handy swipe-on format, that can be applied over arms, legs, thighs or under boobs in seconds to keep sweat at bay wherever you need. The smooth gel-like texture is free from nasties including aluminium and uses natural-based ingredients to fight against perspiration and prevent any unpleasant smells. It also contains hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and Prebiotics to care for skin while you wear it too. It sounded like all my excess-perspiration prayers had been answered, so I put it to the test.

I swiped the deodorant over clean skin after getting out the shower each morning, and wore it to the gym, during a very sweaty train commute and general day to day for nearly two weeks. Read on to hear my thoughts.

  • What I Like About Luna Daily The All Over Deodorant

My deodorants aren’t normally something to get excited about, but I have genuinely enjoyed using this product and have found it easy to add to my daily routine. The silky gel stick swipes over skin invisibly and feels quite cooling at first. It felt a little slippery, like a balm, for a few seconds but then absorbed fast, so I could get dressed without any stickiness or white smears over my clothes.

I went about my day as usual, and I was impressed with how well it worked to keep my clammy woes at bay. In the gym, I can often end up a little soggy after a stint on the treadmill, and while I still sweated during the workout, the deodorant managed to keep it under control much better than I had expected, and I didn’t have the usual concerns about body odour when I headed back to the changing rooms. The deodorant was put to the test again during a very busy train ride. I was squeezed between my fellow commuters in a packed-out carriage for nearly half an hour which would usually send my elbows and knees into slippery overdrive, but they felt much drier and I really didn’t have to worry.

I am filled with hope for a far less sweaty few months ahead, as the deo-stick has worked brilliantly to keep my sweating under control so far. Clammy thighs are always an issue for me, but I think this new gel stick might just be the answer as I feel like I can trust it to work its stay-dry magic without the need for reapplying. The fresh scent lingers on skin well to keep unwanted odour away. There are two fragrances to choose from: Jasmine & Ylang Ylang and Fresh Cotton. I loved both, but the cotton notes have a crisp and clean vibe that I really enjoyed.

Lastly, I wanted to mention the chic tube that the gel comes in. The pretty colours and modern design look far less clinical that a lot of other deodorant products, and they looked lovely sitting on my bathroom shelf.

What to Consider Before Buying Luna Daily The All Over Deodorant

While it definitely helped my sweaty woes and cancelled out any body odour concerns, it isn’t a miracle cure for excess perspiration. It’s very hard to find high street products that will stop clamminess completely, but this one definitely helped the issue and stopped me stressing so much about sweat patches in embarrassing places.

It’s also worth noting that it can take a week or two for your body to adjust to a natural product after using a chemical-based deodorant for a long time. I found this one worked after just a couple of days, but don’t be put off if it takes a little longer for you.

Where is Luna Daily The All Over Deodorant Available?

The natural deodorant stick is available for £14 from luna-daily.com and Sephora.
