A new podcast has landed today, July 22, and it’s the brainchild of the lovely team at MECCA. Pop in your Airpods, open your podcast app and get ready to dive into MECCA’s world for your own behind-the-scenes look at the beauty industry.
Called MECCA Talks, this eight-episode series is hosted by MECCA’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kate Blythe, and Head of Content, Zara Wong.
The podcast will go beyond what you see in-store at MECCA and invite you to intimate chats with MECCA’s networks of friends, founders and collaborators.
The series kicks off with a conversation with MECCA’s Founder and Co-CEO, Jo Horgan, who reflects back on the opening of her first Mecca Cosmetica store in Melbourne’s South Yarra in 1997, while also revealing what it’s like running 100+ stores today.
Through these conversations with some of the most influential people in the beauty industry, MECCA Talks hope to demystify beauty, making it accessible for everybody who wants to learn more about skincare, makeup and much more, as well as the people behind the products.
“While the podcast is digital, MECCA at heart has unbelievable human connection thanks to our stores,” Blythe said in a press release. “We’re really leaning on the talent and the authenticity of our store team members and platforming it in our podcast.”
Other exciting news coming out of the beauty retailer is the imminent launch of a MECCA app. This new digital initiative is due to drop in August and will allow you to scroll and shop your favourite beauty brands, while also working on your Beauty Loop loyalty program status. Consider us sold!
While there isn’t much information available about the app just yet, we’re looking forward to seeing it come August and undoubtedly, our bank balance will become all too familiar with this new technology. In the meantime, you can listen to the first episode of MECCA Talks on all podcast platforms including Apple and Spotify.
