The 2024 Met Gala saw numerous stars show up to the museum with unique takes on this year’s theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” (Hello, to Cardi B’s edge-shaped french manicure). Still, as many people showed up ready to serve, quite a few of them seemed to have forgotten something at home: their eyebrows.
One of the tiny details that you may have missed amidst the grand ballgowns was the plethora of bleached or barely-there brows on the red carpet – a resurgence of a trend that came back full force starting in 2021. No-brow veterans like Cynthia Erivo stuck to the script, with the singer and actress opting to keep hers completely shaved. Others like FKA Twigs and Lana Del Ray chose to go the bleached route, with the latter dying hers to match her cinnamon-red hair color. Even then, there were a few others like Zendaya, who opted for a lighter version while combining it with a razor-thin shape – an ode to the ’90s trend accentuated her garden-themed makeup.
It’s unlikely any of these stars went the old-fashioned boxed-dye method to achieve the look when some concealer can do the trick. All it requires is a few swipes of the pigment through your brow hairs and a quick set with some loose powder. To see the stand-out trend for yourself, we rounded up the best barely-there brow looks from the Met Gala 2024 ahead.
