Want to Smell Like Rihanna, Harry Styles, or Adele? Here are the Perfumes Celebs Actually Wear

Celebrity beauty tips go viral for a reason. Knowing which products your favourite celebs wear gives you a piece of what it feels like to be them, and the best perfumes are arguably the most personal beauty product of them all.
Makeup and hairstyles only get us so far, but we can actually smell like the stars if we buy the right scents. Come on, don’t act as if you’ve never googled “what does Harry Styles smell like?” in a bid to hunt down his exact aftershave.
Yet any fragrance fan knows that it takes hours of dedicated sniffing and scent-induced headaches to find “the one”, so it’s not always easy to find which perfume is favoured. Some people will share their secret through gritted teeth, while others will straight up gate-keep what they wear to avoid it becoming mainstream.
Fortunately, we’ve done some serious investigating and found some famous faces who have revealed their ride-or-die fragrances (and don’t mind us copying them). And we don’t mean the scents the stars put their names to (although some of these are fab), but the beauty brands they use day in, day out. Read on to find out exactly what scent your favourite celebs wear.
Rihanna
Rihanna is known for smelling good – just ask Jim Parsons, Jennifer Lawrence, Cardi B, and beauty blogger NikkieTutorials, who have all publicly commented on the star’s scent. The singer and CEO launched her own scent, Fenty Eau de Parfum ($255) last year, but is known for wearing Love Don’t Be Shy by French boutique fragrance brand Kilian ($360).
Lizzo
Who wouldn’t want to smell just like Lizzo? Well, the thing is . . . you can’t. The “Good as Hell” singer is totally unique, and so is her scent. In 2019, she revealed to The NY Times that she wears the unisex fragrance Molecule 01′ by Escentric Molecules ($142). The only catch is, that it smells different on everyone. Using lab-made Iso E Super molecule, perfumier Geza Schoen managed to make a fragrance that adapts throughout the day. Incredible!
Billie Eilish
Besides her own scent Eilish by Billie Eilish (£49), Billie Eilish has a wide range of favourite fragrances that she switches between. In 2021, the singer shared her eclectic mix of favourite scents on her story in an Instagram Q&A. The star said she loves Le Labo Another 13 ($324-$467) and Etat Libre d’Orange I Am Trash ($230), among others. These alternative scents are peak-cool for the Glastonbury headliner.
Sydney Sweeney
According to a 2021 interview in The Cut, “Euphoria” and double Emmy nominee Sydney Sweeney uses Marc Jacobs Daisy ($138) She said: “I like that this perfume is not so strong that when you walk in a room, you leave a cloud behind you. It’s very dainty, and it’s one of those perfumes that if you want someone to smell it, it means they’re close enough to you.”
Doja Cat
Doja Cat is a big fan of Byredo’s Black Saffron ($245), according to a 2021 Harper’s Bazaar interview. She said: “I love Black Saffron Eau de Parfum by Byredo; it has a musky scent that’s really good. I realised that as a kid, I always loved the smell of candy-also vanilla and flowers-but as an adult, I’ve been trying to get into that world of musky scents, and this fragrance is a great starting point.”
Maya Jama
The TV presenter, who is now engaged to NBA player Ben Simmons, wears Dior Poison ($148). A popular but magnetic perfume makes total sense for one of our best loved stars. When she’s not doused in this, she’ll be wearing Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Garden ($70), the star said in 2019. She explained: “I’m always swapping between those two. I only started wearing fragrance properly six months ago. I thought I was allergic because one time I got a rash. But it was just an ingredient in that particular scent. So I’m a new perfume woman.”
.
Adele
Adele is loyal to her teenage perfume. The “Easy On Me” singer has worn Dior Hypnotic Poison ($148-$255) since she was 15, she told Australia’s 60 Minutes in 2015. The singer said she’d never endorse a perfume or make her own. She said: “I wouldn’t wear my own perfume. That’s not me being in touch with my fans. I’ll always wear the same perfume I’ve always worn since I was 15.”
Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Rodrigo has sophisticated taste for her age. The 19-year-old singer, who is the face of Glossier, told Vogue UK in 2021 that she wears Baccarat Rouge 540 ($356).
Alexa Demie
“Euphoria“‘s Alexa Demie is notoriously private, so a now-deleted Tweet from 2016 is all we have to go off. In the Tweet, Demie claimed that she smells like “rosewater and Bottega Veneta.” The Italian luxury fashion house makes a few different women’s perfumes, but we can assume that she means the one simply named Bottega Veneta ($155).
Perrie Edwards
Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards has had no sense of smell since birth, so perfume isn’t such a big deal to the 29-year-old. Back in 2014, Edwards said she wears Christina Aguilera by Christina Aguilera ($40). “That’s what everyone says I smell nice wearing, so I stick to the same one. I don’t trust anything else,” she explained.
Harry Styles
In 2017, Harry Styles’s makeup artist Lou Teasdale shared a photo of all the products she keeps in her kit and uses on Harry before he goes on stage. Fans went wild when they saw which fragrance was lurking in the shot. Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille ($233) is the “As It Was” singer’s scent of choice, apparently.
Taylor Swift
It is well known by Swifties that Taylor Swift wore Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf ($176) during her “Red” era, reportedly. However, it is thought that the singer also wore Tom Ford’s Santal Blush ($374) for her Reputation secret sessions. Nothing slips past this dedicated fanbase.
Rosie Huntington-Whitely
Rosie Huntington-Whitely looks like she smells fresh. And that’s the reality. The British model wears Byredo’s Gypsy Water ($245) and Jo Malone’s Lime Basil and Mandarin ($229), she revealed in a YouTube video on her personal channel in February 2020. Huntington-Whitely said the Byredo perfume is her “All time ultimate fragrance” and confessed to purchasing it “five to six times” over the last couple of years. “I love this because it’s so easy to wear. I can wear it all through the day, I can wear it in the evening, I get tonnes of compliments on it,” she said “It has become a really familiar smell with a lot of people. I get asked all the time ‘are you wearing Gypsy Water?”
Jodie Comer
In a NY Times, 2020 interview, “Killing Eve” actress Jodie Comer revealed that she wears Le Labo Santal 33 (£141). She said: “I feel like everyone in the universe wears it now. But it smells different on each person – or so I want to think! I definitely copied an actress I worked with. We would ride the lift every day, and I would smell it on her, and it would be that amazing smell. But we’re all copying each other. I have no shame in admitting.”
Kate Middleton
The Duchess of Cambridge wears Orange Blossom by Jo Malone ($229), apparently. The royal had the candle version ($106) of the scent burnt as she walked down the aisle at Westminster Abbey on her wedding day.
Meghan Markle
The Duchess of Sussex wears a few different fragrances. In an interview taken while she was on hit show “Suits”, the then-actress said: “I alternate between a few scents. I love Oribe Côte d’Azur Eau de Parfum ($155) and both the Wild Bluebell ($155) and Wood Sage & Sea Salt ($229) Colognes by Jo Malone.”
