There are some brands that cause a ripple through the industry whenever a new product is launched and The Inkey List is one of them. From its viral Oat Cleanser to its sold out Bio-Active Ceramides Moisturiser (which currently has every beauty editor, including myself, in a headlock) it continues to be a social media favourite with beauty users around the world. And it seems the brand isn’t riding on its coat tails of success, as it has now decided to launch into the body care sector – causing such stir it had 15,000 people on the waiting list before it had even hit the shelves.
I have to say although I am well aware of the benefits of a good body care routine and how it will improve the quality of your skin, I can’t say its something that excites me. I very rarely apply any form of moisturiser below the neck from October to about April and then tend to panic exfoliate and slather my skin from May to September when I have to expose any form of skin.
I am now firmly in the middle-aged tick-box bracket, and I have to say my body doesn’t look its best anymore, from dry scaly skin to dehydrated dark patches, the days of smooth silky skin seem to be far behind me. Unless, that is, I can find a body product that I a) want to use and b) gets me some results. The Inkey List PHA Exfoliating and Hydrating Body Water Cream (£13) and The Inkey List Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Stick (£15) makes some big claims, so my expectations were high.
Read on to find out about my experience of using both products and see the results for yourself.

What I Like About The Inkey List PHA Exfoliating and Hydrating Body Water Cream and Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Stick
Ok where do I start as there are actually a few key things I like about both products and individually. Starting on strong, I love how it doesn’t have an overwhelming fragrance, I’ve dabbled with intensely fragranced body products before in the past and as nice as it is to apply, the scent tends to cause me prickly heat in the summer and I find all day my nose is in a constant battle of “is that my perfume or is it my body lotion?” Not for me. Which is one of the reasons I like how both products have almost zero smell.
Next up the application process and consistency. The stick is a no-brainer – a targeted treatment in a target applicator makes the whole process far less laborious. Cracked heels? A quick swipe. Ingrown hair? Have a dab of that. There is no messing around with too much or too little product, you simply apply what you need. In terms of the body water cream, this isn’t the normal texture of a daily body moisturiser and reminds me more of a serum-style product. It absorbs into your skin almost immediately, and if like me you detest body lotions that stay sticky and cause a delay to getting out (when inevitably you’re already 15 minutes late) then this is another plus for you. It also doesn’t leave any form of a residue and once I show you the difference it makes with one application, you will be blown away.

How to Use The Inkey List PHA Exfoliating and Hydrating Body Water Cream and Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Stick
The majority of reasons I really like these products is in the application which I have just explained above, however it must also be noted that another plus is that the body stick is designed to be used as and when, so there’s no strict treatment plan that you need to follow to achieve maximum results as its designed to help almost instantly. And the body water cream can be used daily, so this can replace your moisturiser or can be applied in the morning or at night. I did notice a bit of a tingle after I applied, so would tend to suggest it is best for your AM routine or to apply a few hours before you go to bed.
What to Consider Before Trying The Inkey List PHA Exfoliating and Hydrating Body Water Cream and Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Stick
As I said before this is not for the luxurious, scented crew. There is nothing premium about the product or the application so if you’re looking to indulge yourself in a nourishing body product then walk along – this is not products for you. This is a solution-based product rather than a self-care experience. Unless you’re idea of self-care is exfoliating masks and plucking your eyebrows.
My Results After Using The Inkey List PHA Exfoliating and Hydrating Body Water Cream and Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Stick

As you can see my legs were extremely dry and scaly before, the skin appeared cracked and dull, and there was no chance I was showing anyone my legs looking like that. After one application my legs appear brighter, smoother and the cracks have lessened. As I continued to use it throughout the week I noticed my legs weren’t as cracked and dry each day. In terms of the stick, I used this on my elbows, knees and ankles and it instantly took the edge off of all these areas. It comforted the dry skin, whilst making it appear healthier and hydrated.
