It’s safe to say every parent has had to coax their toddler to eat their dinner at least once. Or they’ve been worried their toddler isn’t getting all the right nutrients. Fortunately for those stressed-out parents, a new online cookbook with toddler dinner recipes is here to help — and, best of all, it’s free.
MasterChef Australia alumni and dad-to-three Tommy Pham created the free downloadable Toddler Tummies Cookbook with help from toddler nutritional experts at Alula Baby Formula and Toddler Milk Drinks. Pham was inspired after research polling 1,000 Australian parents found that three-quarters (74%) admitted they could do more to support their toddler’s nutritional intake.
Almost half (44%) said they lacked inspiration in the kitchen when it came to toddler meals and the majority (73%) admitted they didn’t know the foundation of a child’s microbiome continues to develop until around age three.
“With so much to think about when supporting a toddler’s nutritional intake, we’re often overwhelmed,” Pham says. “Prebiotic-rich foods in toddlers’ everyday diet can be a great way to support the growth of good bacteria and nurture their digestive well-being. Each recipe is specially designed to introduce foods naturally high in prebiotics.”
Pham worked with toddler nutritional experts on the recipes. They feature prebiotic-rich foods as well as Alula Toddler milk which has prebiotics and eight immune-supporting vitamins and minerals. Importantly, all recipes are quick and easy to make.
The cookbook has recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, including meals like noodles, frittatas, gnocchi, smoothies, muffins and pancakes. Foods used in the recipes are naturally high in prebiotics are highlighted to inform parents. The cookbook also has expert tips on toddler nutrition.
