If You’re Going to the US on Holiday, Here’s What to Get in Your Beauty Haul

I’m sure you don’t need to be told twice to treat yourself while on holiday, but if it’s a trip to the United States you have booked, I’d advise stepping into a beauty store and checking out a range of products you might not be able to get in the UK.

I recently went to New York, eager to shop at brands like EOS and Tree Hut (which has finally launched here in Boots) that have already been on my radar thanks to social media. But my trip to the US resulted in me picking up a whole lot more (RIP my bank account).

I was introduced to brands like Touchland, Peach Slices and Fashion Fair, as well as more from UK favourites like CeraVe and Burt’s Bees, whose skincare products are far more extensive across the pond. Brands like Cover Girl and One Size are hugely popular on TikTok, so I felt I was finally able to get involved in the trends and even bag their bestsellers for a lower price.

Shopping sites like Sephora (which recently launched in the UK), Cult Beauty and Look Fantastic are growing their US brands to make them more accessible for us, but there’s still a lot we’re missing out on living here in the UK. So, if I’ve piqued your interest, keep scrolling for more US products to shop on your American holiday, or to bring back for your beauty-obsessed friends.

Peach Slices

Peach Slices is a popular Korean beauty brand in the US that boasts clean, effective ingredients to help with multiple skin concerns. Now, in the UK, a search for Peach Slices might direct you to Tesco’s canned fruit aisle, so be sure to shop the skincare range, including their Acne System ($39) bundle and Snail Rescue Trio ($47) in US stores.

One Size

If you’re lucky enough to get the One Size On ‘Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray from Sephora stores in the UK, congratulations! But if not, don’t worry as you’re bound to find the product and much more, like their bestseller, the Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder Full ($34), in US stores.

Inn Beauty Project

Inn Beauty Project can supply you with skincare and makeup products in Sephora US stores. The Face Glaze Bronze Highlighting Cream ($27) is quickly becoming a favourite against Drunk Elephant’s Bronzing Drops too, so you won’t have to battle the Sephora tweens for a bottle.

Burt's Bees Skincare

Burt’s Bees is limited in the UK, as you’ll only be able to shop their “Mama and Baby” range, lip balms and hand creams at Boots and Feel Unique. However, in American stores, you’ll find their skincare range, made up of cleansers, eye creams, toners and moisturisers. Some of their US bestsellers include Lip Sleeping Mask ($18) and their Micellar Makeup Removing Towelettes with Coconut and Lotus ($7).

Cover Girl

Cover Girl makeup has yet to launch here in the UK, so shop the brand while you can in the United States. Their Trublend Undercover Concealer ($13) has a similar constituency to the popular Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and, bar the applicator, appears to be a dupe of the iconic base product.

Cinema Secrets

Clean your makeup brushes like a pro with Cinema Secrets‘ makeup cleansing and sanitising products, which you can shop in the US. Quick to use and instantly drying, you brushes will be squeaky clean and fluffier than ever before. I personally love their original Original Makeup Brush Cleaner ($14), which quite literally works in seconds.

lysbeauty.com

lys

lys‘ collection is severely limited in the UK and they don’t ship to the UK from their official site, so shopping their makeup products while on holiday in America is a must. For products that are similar to Hourglass, try their Triple Fix Full Coverage Brightening Concealer ($19) or their No Limits Cream Bronzer Stick ($20).

fashionfair.com

Fashion Fair

Fashion Fair has a deep history – founded by Eunice Johnson in 1973 it was the first international prestige cosmetics brand for darker skin tones. In Sephora’s US stores, you’ll find their extensive collection of lipsticks, foundations and other coverage products. Their new Crème Concealer ($28) provides a lightweight, creamy, and crease-proof base, while their bestselling SkinFLEX Stick ($33) is described as the key to flawless skin.

touchland.com

Touchland

The hand sanitiser you never knew you needed. Touchland is only available in the US and while it is just a hand sanitiser, their Power Mist is hydrating and comes in 15 different scents, from Applelicious ($10) to Blue Sandalwood ($10), and even Unscented ($10), if you prefer practicality.
