I Didn’t Realise This Supplement Was Helping my Skin Until I Stopped Taking it

There’s the old saying that you don’t miss something until it’s gone, whether it’s your go-to lipstick being discontinued or your favourite TV series cancelled, the bereft feeling that something is missing can sometimes feel overwhelming. Although I wasn’t quite ready to wear black for the foreseeable, I really did notice a difference when I stopped taking Vida Glow Radiance+ Advanced Repair (£52) for a few weeks.

The funny thing about missing something, is we often don’t realise what impact it is having on us at the time. This was the same for me and the Vida Glow supplements. I was given a month’s supply to try after sitting down with brand founder Anna Lahey back in the summer. We chatted about her love for collagen (the brand also makes some of the most delicious collagen sachets I have tried) as well as her recently launched hair brand Typebea, with singer Rita Ora. I’m someone who really rates the haircare range, and believes that because of my regular use my hair has grown about four inches in six months (about double the average amount) and feels stronger than ever.

We discussed the brand’s latest supplements and Lahey showed me her own before and after images, which clearly showed how much brighter her skin looked and how the pigmentation had been reduced. I’ve never really suffered from pigmentation, but at 41 I will try anything to help the glow and had started to notice a few darker age spots popping up, so I thought there was no harm.

Read on to find out why I believe these supplements didn’t just give my skin a glow, but also helped me battle the dreaded dark circles too. Oh, and why once I realised I ordered two more bottles!

  • What I Like About Vida Glow Radiance+ Advanced Repair

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve never particularly suffered from pigmentation, so when I started using the supplement I anticipated it wouldn’t show a major difference to my skin. However, it is clear that it not only evened out my skin, it reduced the darkness under my eyes, any darker patches and gave my skin an overall lift. For me it was really the dark circles where I noticed the biggest difference, it seems to reduce the shadow and made me look less tired. I also noticed I didn’t need as much moisturiser when I was taking the supplement and my skin didn’t feel tight at the end of the day.

How to Use Vida Glow Radiance+ Advanced Repair

Although it is not a requirement, it is recommended to take the supplement at the same time every day with a meal. I tended to take this at lunchtime if I was at home and at breakfast if I was going out as this ensured I didn’t forget. The supplement is quite large so I would recommend swallowing with a large glass of water to ensure it goes down and doesn’t feel like it gets stuck anywhere.

What to Consider Before Taking Vida Glow Radiance+ Advanced Repair

Apart from during pregnancy and breastfeeding the supplement is safe for all, however I think for anyone who is postpartum or struggling with hormonal pigmentation this could really help. I have been noticing a few different perimenopausal symptoms recently and this may have increased the darkness under my eyes and the patches of pigmentation I hadn’t even realised were started to appear. However, anyone who is suffering from pigmentation would benefit.
