FBOY Island Australia has been a wild ride, to say the least. What do you expect when you throw a bunch of egos and three stunning women into a villa? This season has served up more than its fair share of drama, with one couple in particular grabbing the spotlight — Ally and Joe. From the beginning, Joe was portrayed as the ultimate ‘FBoy’, and Ally had was shown as having “tunnel vision” for him. But to everyone’s surprise, Joe ended up being Ally’s final choice and was revealed as a ‘Nice Guy’ all along.
Ally’s unwavering interest in Joe became a major talking point among the other contestants, with some of the men feeling she didn’t give them a fair shot. But despite the doubts and the chaos that ensued, Ally and Joe are still going strong, six months after filming wrapped.

Speaking to POPSUGAR Australia, the Ally and Joe opened up about their post-show relationship, their future plans, and how they’re spending their $50,000 prize money.
When asked how they felt about watching the season back, both Ally and Joe agreed that it was an emotional rollercoaster. “It’s very surreal,” Ally shared. “It’s kind of crazy. Going into it, it was nothing that either of us expected… you can’t prepare yourself for anything that happens.”
Joe echoed this sentiment, adding, “There’s so many things you can’t prepare for. You think you’re going in there looking like, ‘I’m going to look great’, but there’s so many situations that you’re not ready for at all. And it is like a pressure cooker. There’s so many unforeseen moments and things said, and it really is just a big emotional rollercoaster.”
Why Ally Stuck By Joe, Even When Everyone Else Had Doubts
Despite the drama and uncertainty surrounding Joe’s character, Ally remained steadfast in her feelings for him. As she explained in the interview, “I came on the show for one thing and one thing only, and I think that everyone needs to remember that. I came on there to find a connection. I came on there to find love. I wasn’t there for money. I wasn’t there for any other reasons.”
Joe, on the other hand, faced significant challenges throughout the season. He was often portrayed as the villain, and it was difficult for him to watch the series back and see how he was perceived. As he shared, “It was very difficult watching the whole series back. There were a lot of moments, just touching on the skin… that really didn’t make it to air. And I think that comes from a viewer’s perspective because people do want some sort of drama and… It’s all for tv. It’s all for the drama. So really they [producers] only want the moments that are really going to be like ‘wow moments’ to the audience.”
Despite the challenges, Joe remained true to himself and his relationship with Ally. He admitted that there were times when he questioned his ability to continue, but Ally’s unwavering support kept him going.
“There were moments where I was like, ‘Wow, this is way harder than I thought it would be’. And I think I did actually say to Ally at one point, ‘Look, I don’t know if I can do this anymore’. But she said to me, ‘Oh God, don’t leave me. I cannot do this by myself’. And right then and now, I was like, ‘OK, that’s enough of a reason to stay’.”
What You Didn’t See on Camera
While the show captured plenty of drama, both Ally and Joe feel that the real depth of their relationship wasn’t fully shown.
“I just wish that they included some of the nice moments, the moments to us that were really special. I think that obviously the perception of us as a couple is determined by what’s shown,” Ally admitted.
“And I don’t think that it’s true… I feel like my character didn’t really come through a lot. I felt like I was quite shy during filming, which is not actually who I am. So yeah, I feel like maybe both of us, our true personalities didn’t really come out. So I feel like people don’t really know us. You read some of the comments online and they’re saying all these certain things and I’m like, ‘It couldn’t be further from the truth’.”
What’s Next for Ally and Joe?
Ally and Joe’s relationship has continued to flourish since the show ended. They are more serious than ever and have plans to move in together in the near future. As Joe shared, “We are so serious about this relationship. We could not be more part of each other’s lives if we tried. Since we’ve both come off the show, I think we’ve at most spent a week without each other. We’re just always in each other’s arms and presence. For me, I’m very loving and I want to be around my partner and it just works out the exact same. And we have a lot of plans for our future.”
Ally added, “We’re planning to move in together actually in the quite near future, which will be really exciting. I think that definitely, maybe not this year. The year sort of gets away from you when you’re playing hide and seek with the world for six months, maybe next year.”
They’ve also met each other’s parents and received their approval, which is a significant milestone for any couple.
How They Plan to Spend Their $50,000 Prize
As for their $50,000 prize money, the couple is thinking ahead.
“I think that we both decided to put it away, not touch it, and then maybe in a couple of years or so, we already put that towards a house,” Ally said. “The housing market in Australia is not great. So we need all the help we can get really.”
Joe added, “We both know we want to be with each other to days aren’t anymore. And that’s just a really good way of solidifying things if you’re so sure.”
With a future full of plans and a bond that’s only grown stronger, Ally and Joe seem like they’ve definitely found their happy ending.
