“The Afterparty” is back for Season 2. That’s right, folks! There’s been another murder, with a whole new mystery comes a (mostly) new cast of suspicious characters. One of the new faces joining the cast for Season 2 is Anna Konkle, who you’ll recognise from the iconic cringe comedy “PEN15“.
In “The Afterparty” Season 2, a wedding is ruined when the groom (Zach Woods) is murdered. Every guest is a suspect, and once again, it’s up to Detective Danner (Tiffany Haddish) to help Aniq (Sam Richardson) and Zoë (Zoë Chao) solve the case. Over the course of the season, Danner and Aniq question the family members, star-crossed lovers and business partners who attended the wedding, and hear each suspect’s retelling of the weekend.
The cast of “The Afterparty” Season 2 is as stacked as the first season. Aside from our returning characters, new faces joining the cast this season include Poppy Liu as Grace, Zach Woods as Edgar, Elizabeth Perkins as Isabel, Jack Whitehall as Sebastian, Ken Jeong as Feng, Paul Walter Hauser as Travis, John Cho as Ulysses, Vivian Wu as Vivian, and of course, Anna Konkle as Hannah.
With so many talented and hilarious actors on the scene, we had to know what things were like behind the scenes. In a chat with our sister site The Latch back in June, Konkle gave us the scoop.

Anna Konkle’s Favourite Behind-the-Scenes Moments
“They’re all so good,” Konkle gushed of her “Afterparty” co-stars.
“Elizabeth [Perkins] was obsessed with the lizard, she made an Instagram handle for him,” she recalled. “But I had no idea what she was doing with all the pictures — every two seconds I thought she was taking pictures of the cast between every take.”
She continued: “We would do a take and then I would see her phone out, and I was like ‘she’s taking a lot of photos!’, and then I realised she was only taking photos of Edgar’s lizard, and that really killed me.”
Konkle laughed: “And then she gave us all wrap gifts that were coffee cups with the lizard on it, [it] was great.”
There were plenty of other moments along the way that made Konkle laugh on set, though.
“Sam [Richardson] was always making commercial jingles, Paul Walter Hauser was always pratfalling between takes…” she paused. “What else was really good?
“John Cho and Ken Jeong have a continual feud,” she explained. “Their whole thing is that they ‘dislike each other’ — they adore each other! — but they’re always like ‘Can you leave?’, ‘Let’s go to dinner, you’re not invited’. Tt got very literal by the end, and I was endlessly entertained by it.”
“The Afterparty” S2 premieres globally with the first two episodes on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, on Apple TV+. New episodes will drop weekly every Wednesday until September 5, exclusively on Apple TV+.
