Big Brother’s Brenton Made Us Swoon With What He Had to Say About His Romance With Christina

For fans who love a romance on reality TV, we have confirmation that two housemates do indeed form a very close bond in the Big Brother house.

Confirmed by Channel 7 (which means Big Brother himself), current housemate Christina Podolyan and intruder Brenton Balicki strike up a “more than friends” relationship in the house.

While you can watch a snippet of it in the clip below, we spoke to Brenton about his budding romance, to poke around and see if we could find out if he and the 22-year-old flight attendant were still together.

“It was dangerous,” Brenton told POPSUGAR Australia before his entrance into the house. “It was dangerous, but it could also be seen as quite comforting knowing that amongst all the chaos, there was one person that I could absolutely rely on and trust, and that goes a long way in the house.”

He continued: “I knew that even if I didn’t have an identical gameplay as her, our intentions were always the same, and I could count on her to look after me.”

When it comes to romances in the house, according to the tech sales rep, “time doesn’t exist”.

“Time in general is such an interesting thing in the house, because firstly, it doesn’t exist. You don’t have clocks or watches,” he said. “And secondly, if you think about when you meet someone new on the outside world, it might take three to six months to really get to know them. You have different encounters, you have different experiences, you have different conversations but [in the house] all these things get crammed into a short period of time, like, within days.”

As for what attracted Balicki to Christina: “Christina is not exactly your average sort of person,” he revealed. “She’s a really incredible person and regardless of what’s happening in the house, I think I would have been drawn to Christina for many other reasons as well.

“She’s extremely emotionally intelligent, very down to earth and she’s just so practical in the way that she thinks. She has a good understanding of how the world works, the way she treats people. It’s just really impressive. She’s also really funny. It’s really hard to come across someone like Christina.” Aww so sweet!

So, are the two lovebirds still a thing in the outside world?

“There’s only so far you can go with someone in the house when you’ve got like 400 cameras on you,” Brenton confessed. “And then there are challenges in the outside world that get in the way for Christina and me to see each other regularly. She lives in Melbourne and I live in Sydney. We don’t know what will happen in the future.”

While you may not be invested in them yet (just you wait), we can tell you that Christina came up to Sydney recently and the pair “really enjoyed spending the time” with one another and still “talk most days”.
