In the realm of aerospace engineering, Ava’s daily grind is nothing short of rocket science. With a background that boasts stints at NASA, she’s no stranger to pushing the boundaries of human achievement. Now, she’s gearing up for her next frontier: The Summit.

As one of the few females, let alone Australian females, to have worked at NASA, Ava is a trailblazer in every sense of the word. Her journey to The Summit is fuelled by a relentless drive to conquer new heights and push herself to the limit.

“I think I have all the aspects to do well out here,” Ava asserted. “The physical — I do mountaineering, I go backpacking, rock climbing. I have the mental aspect — I am really strong mentally with the work I do. And I have the social aspect, because I don’t think many people could move from Perth to Alabama and get the respect to work on flight projects like I do.”

But Ava’s strength isn’t just in her technical prowess; it’s also in her unwavering honesty and determination to win. “I admit my blunt honesty can sometimes get me into trouble,” she acknowledged. “But I’m not afraid to play a ruthless game because I want to win — for my family.”

For Ava, The Summit is more than just a physical challenge; it’s a test of resilience, strategy, and sheer determination. As she embarks on this adventure, she carries with her the weight of her achievements and the hopes of those who have supported her along the way.

As the journey unfolds, Ava’s story serves as a reminder that the sky is not the limit — it’s just the beginning. And with her spirit of innovation and determination, there’s no telling how far she’ll go.

The Summit airs Monday and Tuesday at 7.00pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
