Everything You Need to Know About Bec and Lleyton Hewitt’s Kids
In 1999, Bec Cartwright was a rising star on Home and Away when she met the bad boy of tennis, Lleyton Hewitt.
Cartwright was just 16 years old at the time, while Hewitt, 18, was making waves internationally.
“I couldn’t play tennis, so it was quite comical. I didn’t impress him with my game. He just thought it was really admirable that I gave it a go,” Bec told Stellar during an interview in 2018.
Now, Australia’s original naughties golden couple — who have been married for 16 years — have three children — Mia, 15, Cruz, 12 and Ava, 10.
While their parents have been largely out of the spotlight since Bec left the soap in 2005 and Lleyton retired from tennis in 2016, their children on the other hand are just at the beginning of successful careers in modelling, acting and, of course, tennis.
Here’s what the Hewitt kids are up to now.
Mia Hewitt, 15
Mia may only be 15-years-old, but she is already cementing herself as a top model.
The teen — who seriously got the best of both parents — is keen to get into the fashion industry, and according to her famous mum, is a “great illustrator and designer”.
“She already sews,” Bec told TV WEEK. “She has made coats with lining and pockets and all sorts of things.”
In 2018, Mia became an ambassador (alongside Bec) for haircare brand Palmolive and that same year, she went on a mummy-daughter trip to Paris to check out Fashion Week.
Cruz Hewitt, 12
The apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree when it comes to Cruz Hewitt!
The 12-year-old is already following in the footsteps of his dad, Lleyton, with a budding tennis career.
In April 2019 (when he was just 10-years-old), Cruz took out his first tennis title with his proud parents watching on.
“So proud of my lil’ mate,” Lleyton said in an Instagram post, while his mum said: “Way to go Cruza!! So proud of your hard work! ???? @cruzhewitt #firsttitle.”
Later, Lleyton said of his son: “Hopefully he gets a chance to play in this great event if he wants to. Hopefully, he beats me.”
Watch out, Tennis Australia!
Ava Hewitt, 10
Miss personality, Ava, is already an accomplished actor and dancer.
The youngest Hewitt is insanely talented and has many hobbies including dancing, gymnastics and acrobatics.
In June 2020, Ava appeared in an ad for Target, sporting a pink beanie and matching scarf for the brand and worked with her famous siblings in a commercial for Smooth Wholegrain bread.
Ava has already signed with Bayside Talent, a modelling agency, with Talent Box Creatives for TV and Film and dances with Dance Prescription in Sydney. All we can say is, watch this face!
