After seven action-packed episodes, “The Book of Boba Fett” officially came to a close on Feb. 9. Its grand finale sees Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) teaming up with their allies like the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) and Krrsantan (Carey Jones) to take down the Pyke syndicate, who took control over Tatooine along with the help of the ruthless bounty hunter Cad Bane (Corey Burton/Dorian Kingi). Just when the gang believe the Pykes outnumber them, they get surprise reinforcements from the people of Freetown (formerly known as Mos Pelgo). Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, also aids in the battle by damaging a Scorpenek droid and putting Boba’s rancor to sleep using the Force.
After the team successfully free Tatooine, an end-credits scene reveals one of Boba and Mando’s allies, who was presumed dead, is actually still alive. So, who is it? Here’s what to know about the postcredits scene in “The Book of Boba Fett”‘s finale.
Who’s in the Bacta Tank in “The Book of Boba Fett”‘s Finale?
During the postcredits scene, the Mod Artist (played by musician Stephen Bruner, aka Thundercat) gets his tools ready to operate on someone in Boba’s bacta tank. The Mod Artist once helped save Fennec’s life by giving her cybernetic enhancements, so it seems he’s now going to do the same with Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant), the Marshal of Freetown.
What Happened to Cobb Vanth in “The Book of Boba Fett”?
Cad Bane shot the Marshal in the sixth episode of “The Book of Boba Fett” after Cobb killed a group of Pykes that were transporting spice near Freetown. The bounty hunter offers to pay Cobb to stay out of the Pykes’ way, but the Marshal turns him down. The two then have a gun duel that ends with Cobb being shot in the shoulder. We thought he died, especially after Cobb didn’t show up in the finale’s big battle, but as it turns out, he’s alive, and the Mod Artist will fix his wounds through cybernetic enhancements.
Will Cobb Vanth Be in “The Book of Boba Fett” Season 2?
Disney hasn’t renewed “The Book of Boba Fett” for a second season yet, so it’s unclear when we’ll see Cobb next. However, if the series does come back, the Marshal may appear in the show again since both he and Boba live on Tatooine and are now allies thanks to the Mandalorian.
Will Cobb Vanth Be in “The Mandalorian” Season 3?
We first got to know the Marshal in the second season of “The Mandalorian,” so it’s highly likely he’ll return in the show’s upcoming third season since he and the Mandalorian are allies and have helped each other on several occasions. Although “The Mandalorian” takes place on different planets, we often see Mando return to Tatooine to get ship repairs from a mechanic named Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris), meaning he could visit the Marshal in Freetown once more.
The third season of “The Mandalorian” is rumoured to premiere in December, so it may not be long before we see the Marshal again!
