The Bridgerton universe is expanding! Back in May 2021, Netflix announced their plans for a spinoff series that’s all about Queen Charlotte, and, since then, we’ve been eagerly awaiting more details. The limited series, which has already been ordered by the streaming service, will follow the origin story of the gossip-obsessed monarch and will also feature a young Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury. Shonda Rhimes will also be writing and executive-producing the limited series, along with Betsy Beers and Tom Verica.
On March 30, shortly after season two of “Bridgerton” landed on Netflix, we got a sneak peek into the cast of the spinoff series. A post on Instagram, shared by the “Bridgerton” account, featured a caption that listed India Amarteifio, Adjoa Andoh, and Arsema Thomas as the newest recruits.
The caption read “For her next series, Lady @shondarhimes will chronicle Her Majesty’s rise to prominence and esteemed power in a prequel that shall witness @goldarosheuvel reprise her role and @india_amarteifio join the Ton as young Queen Charlotte. Lady Danbury @adjoa.andoh and @arsemathomas as her younger self will also be participating in the social season, alongside none other than Ruth Gemmell as Lady Bridgerton, and Corey Mylchreest as a young King George.”
Keep your eyes peeled for more updates.
