Brittany Snow and Tyler Stanaland are going their separate ways after two years of marriage. On Sept. 14, the actor and the “Selling the OC” star announced the split news via joint statements shared on Instagram. “After time and consideration, Tyler and I have made the difficult decision to separate. This decision was made with love and mutual respect for one another,” Snow wrote in her post.
She continued: “We have realised we need to take some time and make sure we are each living our most fulfilling and authentic lives. We started this journey as best friends and our relationship will continue to be a priority not only for us but for our dog Charlie. We sincerely appreciate your support and ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter.”
Snow and Stanaland’s public announcement came shortly after People reported that a source said the pair’s relationship is “fully over.” “All of the girls [on the show] are obsessed with him,” the source added. “He’s been trying to be really respectful but it’s taken a toll on his marriage 100 percent.” They also said Snow “never wanted Tyler on [‘Selling the OC’] but he was adamant,” adding that Stanaland “wanted to make a name for himself on his own terms.”
The couple’s relationship was reportedly on the rocks after Stanaland revealed one of his costars attempted to kiss him during filming, though the incident wasn’t captured on camera. According to People, the source also shared that Stanaland’s presence on the show and his relationship with Snow being part of his storyline “broke them.” “They had issues before, but this is the final straw,” they added.
Snow and Stanaland started dating sometime in 2018 after the latter slid into the actor’s Instagram DMs. They got engaged in February 2019 before tying the knot on March 14, 2020.
