Brittany Snow and Tyler Stanaland's Lowkey Love Story

Brittany Snow stole fans’ hearts as Chloe in the “Pitch Perfect” franchise and again in “Someone Great,” in which she played cynical Blair Helms. Now her husband, Tyler Stanaland, is stepping into the spotlight as one of the Oppenheim real estate agents on the new Netflix series “Selling the OC.” The “Selling Sunset” spinoff will follow the lives and coastal luxe real estate behind Jason Oppenheim’s new Newport Beach, CA, brokerage. Stanaland is prominently featured in the season-one trailer, leaving fans to wonder whether Snow will make an appearance on the show.

The couple began dating sometime in 2018 after Stanaland slid into Snow’s DMs (celebrities, they’re just like us!). For the most part, they prefer to keep their relationship out of the public eye. However, Snow is slowly allowing herself to open up a little bit more.”I keep things very to myself because I feel like the magic gets lost if you promote it too much, but I don’t know!” Snow told US Weekly. “When you’re in love…I just don’t want to think about it too much anymore.”

2018: Brittany Snow And Tyler Stanaland Begin Dating

In 2018, Snow and Stanaland took their friendship to the next level – and in the most mainstream way possible: Instagram DMs. “We had a bunch of friends in common, and he actually reached out to me on Instagram with a really lame pickup line,” Snow told People. The couple kept their first date casual, opting to grab dinner at a Mexican restaurant in the neighbourhood.

“We got tacos after years of being infatuated with one another and forgot how to speak entirely,” Stanaland joined in. “There was a certain amount of tequila consumed, and then we just started talking a lot. Then we fell in love and nothing’s really changed, we’re still eating tacos and margaritas together.”

February 2019: Brittany Snow And Tyler Stanaland Get Engaged

First comes love, then comes marriage! The happy couple got engaged in early February 2019, but didn’t let fans in on the big news until later that month. They wanted some time to “celebrate the old-fashioned way,” Stanaland said on Instagram.

“The proposal happened in our kitchen,” Snow told The Knot. “Which was the same place we had our first kiss. Tyler, then, had organised a secret engagement party at our favourite restaurant with all our closest friends and family waiting.”

February 2020: Brittany Snow And Tyler Stanaland Host a Joint Bachelor Party

When it came time to plan their bachelor and bachelorette party, the pair knew they wanted one ginormous, joint celebration.”I always thought it was very strange when – I understand why people want to do different days because they want to let their hair down. But for me, I feel like I’d miss you,” Snow told Us Weekly at the time.

The two-day extravaganza included a day just for the bridal party (which we refer to as the Barden Bella reunion). Snow and team bride met up with Stanaland and his friends the following day for a joint party. “I just want to celebrate with my best friend,” Stanaland told the outlet.

March 2020: Brittany Snow And Tyler Stanaland Get Married

In March 2020 – just mere days before the world went into lockdown due to COVID-19 – the couple tied the knot in an intimate, outdoor ceremony in Cielo Farms in Malibu. Similar to their very first date, the couple wanted to stay local and feast on their favourite things: tacos and tequila. Their dog Bille Jean took on the role of flower girl. She donned a flower collar that matched her mom’s bouquet.

“I got to look at Tyler, take his hands, and I’ve never felt more safe,” Snow told The Knot of her favourite moment from the wedding. “I wasn’t nervous at all. It was all about us talking to each other and telling each other our hearts. It was perfect.”

As for Stanaland, his favourite moment was the reading of the vows, which they wrote themselves. “The most memorable thing was staring into her eyes and giving my vows. There were 100 people there watching but it felt like it was just us,” Stanaland said.
