Tana Mongeau and Jake Paul
Following their highly publicized Las Vegas wedding in July 2019, Jake and Tana decided to part ways at the beginning of the new year. The YouTube stars both announced the split on their respective Instagram accounts. “It’s best for us to focus on our lives & see what the future holds,” Jake wrote. Meanwhile, Tana addressed the news, saying, “For right now we both are taking a break . . . This is coming from a place of nothing but love.”
Matthew Rodgers and Katie Cassidy
After two years of marriage, Katie filed for divorce from Matthew in January. According to Us Weekly, the Arrow actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind their split and requested a “dissolution without minor children.”
Jeffree Star and Nathan Schwandt
In a 17-minute video, Jeffree revealed that he and Nathan split after five years of dating. The beauty guru explained, “We were both so busy being there for each other that we forgot to be here for ourselves, and that’s what 2020 is – focusing on ourselves.”
Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler
The longtime couple, who first got together in 2011, reportedly called it quits. According to Us Weekly, the couple broke up in January, and the 31-year-old actress “has been telling those close to her about” it.
Lana Del Rey and Sean Larkin
In March, the singer and the Live PD star called it quits after six months of dating. “Right now, we’re just friends,” Sean told The New York Times. “We still talk and whatnot, we just have busy schedules right now.”
Kehlani and YG
Kehlani hinted at her split from YG in February when she dropped her single, “Valentine’s Day (Shameful).” She later confirmed she was single when she responded to a fan in a now-deleted tweet. The couple first went public with their relationship last September.
Ne-Yo and Crystal Smith
After four years of marriage, Ne-Yo and Crystal announced their separation in February. “Slowly but surely it’s becoming public knowledge that myself and my wife have decided to go ahead and get a divorce,” Ne-Yo said in an interview. “It’s not a sad thing . . . long story short, I’m never gonna talk bad about her; I’m not that person. There’s nothing bad to say about her; she’s a fantastic woman. She’s the mother of my children. She’s always gonna be that, and I will always respect her.”
Madelaine Petsch and Travis Mills
The duo broke up after three years of dating in February. “I’ve had to accept there’s no possible way to capture a love of this scale or its significance to me, in a few paragraphs,” Travis wrote on Instagram. “That said, I’ll try, because so many of you supported us over the years like a family would.” He then added how difficult dating in the spotlight can be as “red carpets, parties, photoshoots, TV etc create this alternate reality” where he and Madelaine are “one-dimensional people.”
Jesse Metcalfe and Cara Santana
The pair ended their engagement of nearly four years in January. It’s unclear what happened.
Lena Waithe and Alana Mayo
Lena and Alana split two months after announcing their marriage in January. “After careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways,” they said in a statement to People. “We have nothing but support for one another and ask that you respect our privacy during this time.”
