There is nothing quite like a romance between two famous actors. The line rehearsals, numerous days on set, and close work nature are just some of the reasons actors often fall head over heels for their costars. Over the years, Hollywood has gifted us a number of power couples as a result of their professional collaborations in front of the camera, including, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, and Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, to name just a few. For these celebrities, the chemistry was just as strong off screen as it was on, which in many cases has led to romantic reunions, nuptials, and even children down the line.

Being on set and in the spotlight in the midst of a romance isn’t always easy, though, and while some celebrities have managed to stick it out through thick and thin (we’re looking at you, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr.), others have called it quits and either move on with someone new or enjoy single life.

Where they met: “Spider-Man: Homecoming”

These two lovebirds met after being cast in 2017’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” Dating rumors began swirling almost immediately, but nothing was known for certain until the pair were seen kissing in Holland’s car in July 2021.

Since then, they’ve stepped out on the red carpet together numerous times and have shared sweet tributes to each other on social media. The pair don’t often speak about each other in interviews, but in July 2023, Holland said he felt “lucky” to be dating someone who’s also in the entertainment industry. “You can share your experiences and all that sort of stuff,” he said, “and that’s worth its weight in gold.”

Where they met: “Hollywood Horror”

This pair met on the set of “Hollywood Horror” in 1999. “While Cory and I were filming, he took a liking to me rather quickly,” Mowry told People in 2020.

The pair went on to tie the knot in 2008 and welcomed their first child in 2011. Their second child arrived in 2018. Unfortunately, the pair announced their divorce in October 2022.

Where they met: “Green Lantern”

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds met for the first time on the set of “Green Lantern” in 2010. Reynolds famously portrayed the Green Lantern superhero, and Lively starred as his romantic interest, Carol Ferris. Despite sharing the screen together, the two didn’t start dating until October 2011, after Lively split from “Gossip Girl” costar Penn Badgley and Reynolds divorced Scarlett Johansson.

The pair tied the knot in a private ceremony in October 2012, and have been going strong ever since. They are parents to four children: James (born 2014), Inez (born 2016), Betty (born 2019), and baby no. 4 (born in February 2023), whose name still has yet to be revealed.

Where they met: “I Know What You Did Last Summer”

Sarah Michelle Gellar met Freddie Prinze Jr. back in 1997, when the two were filming the horror movie “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” At the time, the two were just friends, but their friendship led to dating just three years later in January 2000, per Good Morning America. A little over a year later, the couple got engaged in April 2001, and by September 2002, they were married, according to People. In September 2009, they welcomed a daughter, Charlotte Grace, into the world, and had a son, Rocky James, in September 2012.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis

Where they met: “That ’70s Show”

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher played opposite one another on “That ’70s Show,” which is where the two first connected in 1998. Though their characters Jackie Burkhart and Michael Kelso dated on the show, the two didn’t begin a relationship until 2012, nearly six years after “That ’70s Show” ended. The two reconnected in January 2012 at the Golden Globe Awards, and initially wanted to keep their relationship casual at first.

By April 2012, however, the pair decided to move in together, per People. Kunis and Kutcher got engaged in February 2014, and welcomed their first child, Wyatt Isabelle, in October of that year. The couple tied the knot in July 2015, and had another child, Dimitri Portwood, in November 2016.

Kunis explained the significance of their relationship to Glamour in 2016, saying, “There’s nothing we don’t know about each other because we’ve known each other for so long: the ugly, the bad, the good . . . Where they met: “Law and Order: SVU”

Fans of “Law and Order: SVU” have notably shipped Mariska Hargitay with many of her costars (ahem, Christopher Meloni), so it is nothing short of a coincidence that the actor met her husband, Peter Hermann, on the set of the long-running show. The two connected when Hermann starred as a guest in season three of “Law and Order: SVU” in 2001, and started dating shortly after.

Hargitay later revealed in an interview on “The Drew Barrymore Show” that she was immediately drawn to Hermann, and initially thought, “Who is that Clark Gable Superman guy that I need to marry today?” upon seeing him. The couple tied the knot in August 2004 and had a son, August, in June 2006. In addition to their son, Hargitay and Hermann adopted two children, Amaya and Andrew, in April and October 2011, respectively.

When Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck met on the set of “Gigli” in 2001, the two couldn’t anticipate that they would be one of the most popular celebrity couples in Hollywood. The two started a relationship shortly after meeting and got engaged in November 2002, in the midst of Lopez’s divorce from husband Cris Judd. Immediately after the couple got together, a media frenzy swirled around them, which eventually led to their breakup in January 2004.

After their split, Lopez went on to marry singer Marc Anthony in 2004, and Affleck married actor Jennifer Garner in 2005. Despite breaking up, the pair were friendly over the years, and it was this foundation that rekindled their romance in April 2021.

The pair gave love another try, and in July 2022, said “I do” in a Las Vegas ceremony. Of the special occasion, Lopez shared in her On the JLo newsletter, “It’s a beautiful outcome that this has happened in this way at this time in our lives where we can really appreciate and celebrate each other and respect each other.” In August 2022, they tied the knot for a second time in an elaborate Georgia ceremony in August.

When Judd Apatow produced 1996’s “The Cable Guy,” he had no idea he would meet the love of his life during pre-production. When Apatow met Leslie Mann after her audition, he knew she was the one. “I had a soul connection instantly. I meant it. Mac and Dee have their own romantic conquests on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” but the actors that portray them, Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson, are a couple in real life that met when Olson auditioned for the comedy show in 2004, as reported by Brides. Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton met on the set of NBC’s competitive singing show, “The Voice,” in 2014. Following their respective breakups from Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, they began dating a year later, ultimately getting married in July 2021.

Where they met: “Fantastic Four”

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren originally met on the set of “Fantastic Four” in 2004, when the actor starred as Sue Storm and Warren was working as a director’s assistant, according to People. The pair had an immediate connection and started dating shortly after meeting. By December 2007, Alba and Warren not only announced their engagement, but also shared that they were expecting their first child together.

Per Us Weekly, the couple said “I do” in a quiet ceremony at the Beverly Hills courthouse in May 2008, and welcomed their first child, Honor Marie, a month later. The two continued to grow their family throughout their marriage, and had daughter Haven Garner in August 2011 and son Hayes in December 2017.

Where they met:The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Jada Pinkett Smith met Will Smith back in 1994 when she auditioned for the part of his girlfriend on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” as reported by Women’s Health. She ultimately didn’t get the part for being too short, and Smith was married to Sheree Zampino, so a romance was not in the cards at the time.

By 1995, though, Smith realized Pinkett Smith was the one and ultimately divorced Zampino to be with her. After two years of dating, Smith proposed, and the couple got married in December 1997, per Us Weekly. The pair have two children together, son Jaden (born July 1998) and daughter Willow (born October 2000), as well as Smith’s son with Zampino, Willard “Trey” Smith III.

In her 2023 memoir “Worthy,” Pinkett Smith revealed that she and Smith had been separated since 2016, but have decided to stay together.

Where they met:Orange Is the New Black

Couples that meet on set are usually actors, but Lauren Morelli and Samira Wiley came from different professions. The pair met in 2012 on the set of Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black,” as Morelli was a lead writer for the show, and Wiley a central character, aka Poussey Washington. At the time, Morelli was married, but later revealed to Out Magazine in 2016 that she had an immediate crush on the actor after seeing her audition tape.

In 2014, Morelli filed for divorce and started dating Wiley that same year, per Insider. By 2016, the couple were engaged, and got married in March 2017, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. In April 2021, Morelli and Wiley welcomed their daughter, George Elizabeth, into the world, with Wiley writing on Instagram, “Welcome to the world, babygirl. Where they met: “The Place Beyond the Pines”

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are known to be one of Hollywood’s most private couples, and since meeting in 2011 on the set of the drama “The Place Beyond the Pines,” the pair are still going strong. After meeting on set, Mendes and Gosling were seen at various events and outings together, including Thanksgiving in Paris, Gosling’s mom’s graduation, and more, as reported by Harper’s Bazaar.

When Kirsten Dunst met Jesse Plemons on the set of “Fargo” in 2015, she was still dating Garrett Hedlund, but the pair grew close while working together. In 2011, Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser connected on the set of “Mad Men” and started a relationship soon after, according to Us Weekly. Over the years, the pair were very private about the details of their relationship and hardly seen in public together. Megan Fox met Brian Austin Green when he made a guest appearance on the ABC sitcom “Hope & Faith” in 2004, according to Us Weekly. Fox and Green’s third child, Journey, was born in August 2016, and the two ultimately split in December 2019, with Green confirming the news in May 2020.

Where they met: “Midnight in the Switchgrass”

After her split from Green, Fox started working on the film “Midnight in the Switchgrass,” where she met Machine Gun Kelly in March 2020. Fox’s relationship with Green was still in limbo (publicly) at the time, but by May 2020, a source close to Fox told E! News that, “She is separated from Brian Austin Green, and they are taking time apart as a couple. She has something going on with Machine Gun Kelly that she is excited about.” The two were officially labeled as a couple in June 2020, and have since been known for packing on PDA in public and collaborating together in music videos.

MGK proposed to Fox in January 2022 after nearly two years of dating, but fans noticed things went sour during Super Bowl weekend in February 2023 after Fox deleted pictures of MGK and unfollowed the musician on Instagram. In March 2023, a source revealed to Us Weekly, “Megan and MGK are currently on a break but are still in contact. Longtime couple Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan first connected on the set of “Family Ties” in 1985.
