Charlie Hall is becoming a familiar face thanks to his role on “The Sex Lives of College Girls” season two. The 25-year-old actor plays Andrew, Whitney’s (Alyah Chanelle Scott) lab partner and new love interest, who has viewers all riled up. Prior to the HBO Max dramedy, Hall snagged his fair share of TV roles in shows like “Bel Air,” “Love Victor,” and “Single Drunk Female.” But there’s another reason you may recognize him – his famous parents: “Seinfeld” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus and her husband, “Saturday Night Live” alum Brad Hall.
Charlie – who accompanied Louis-Dreyfus to the White House State Dinner on Dec. 1 – seems to be following in his mother’s footsteps as an actor. In fact, he once asked her for some insightful industry advice. “Get out of the business,” Louis-Dreyfus jokingly recalled to Entertainment Tonight in September. Despite her hilarious words of wisdom, Louis-Dreyfus is actually super proud of her son and his budding career. She even bragged about him after his “The Sex Lives of College Girls” casting news was announced. “That’s my boy,” she captioned an Aug. 15 Instagram post.
Beyond that, Hall has a few other TV and movie projects lined up, including an HBO Max rom-com titled “Sweethearts,” starring Kieran Shipka and Nico Hiraga, per Deadline. He Started His Acting Career With a Cameo on One of His Mom's TV Shows
Before taking on his role as Whitney’s obnoxious know-it-all lab partner in “The Sex Lives of College Girls,” Hall appeared in shows like “Big Shot” and a film titled “Moxie.” However, his first speaking role came about in his mother’s show “Veep,” where she starred as politician Selina Meyer, and he had a cameo in season seven playing a character named Eddie Axler.
“It was actually (showrunner) Dave Mandel’s idea, God bless him,” Louis-Dreyfus shared during a 2019 appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” per the Chicago Tribune. “There was this role of an inappropriately young boyfriend to a record executive who’s in his 50s, and Dave said, ‘Hey, maybe Charlie can play that part” And I said, ‘Sure, I’ll ask him.'” Even though the actor supports her son’s career today, Louis-Dreyfus admitted she was “terrified” about Hall’s cameo because she “thought he might screw it up.” “Sorry, honey.”

He Helped Support His Mother Through Her Breast Cancer Recovery
Louis-Dreyfus announced her battle with breast cancer in September 2017 and a year later revealed that she was in remission. In a 2020 interview with People, Hall opened up about his mother’s diagnosis and said, “It’s a struggle to have that happen to your mom.” However, he stayed relatively optimistic throughout her recovery. “I felt pretty lucky,” he added. “Both just with the care she was able to receive and also the support from our family and friends and people reaching out to me and stuff. I think we all very much felt like we had a team, that we were not alone.”
