Chrissie Swan is a beloved Australian television and radio personality who has captured the hearts of many with her wit, humour, and relatability.

Born in 1973 in Melbourne, Chrissie started her career as a copywriter before transitioning into the world of media. She became a household name in Australia after appearing on the reality television show “Big Brother” in 2003, where she quickly won over audiences with her bubbly personality and infectious laugh.

Since then, Chrissie has hosted several successful radio shows, including “Chrissie, Sam & Browny” on Nova 100, and has appeared on numerous TV shows, including “The Project” and “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”.

With her charm and quick wit, Chrissie has become one of Australia’s most beloved media personalities, and a true inspiration.

Was Chrissie Swan on Big Brother?

Yes! In fact, Chrissie Swan’s “Big Brother” appearance is what launched her into her now-job as a TV personality and host in Australia.

Swan burst onto the Australian media scene in 2003 as a contestant on the third season of “Big Brother“. She quickly won over audiences with her one-liners, authentic personality, and relatable demeanour. She quickly became a fan favourite, with viewers captivated by her infectious laugh and catchphrase: “I’m just Chrissie from the burbs”. People still remember the Chrissy Swan on “Big Brother” as one of the most relatable people on Aussie reality TV.

Chrissie’s time on the show was not without controversy, however. She famously broke the show’s rules by smuggling in a pack of Tim Tams, a popular Australian chocolate biscuit, and was reprimanded by Big Brother himself. Iconic behaviour.

Despite these minor setbacks, Chrissie Swan on “Big Brother” emerged from the house as one of the most popular and beloved contestants in the show’s history. Her time on the show cemented her status as a down-to-earth personality, and launched her career in the Australian media industry.

She recently posted to social media, celebrating the 20th anniversary of her appearance on the show. She shared a sweet moment of reuniting with fellow contestant,  Dan McInnes.

“I was so happy to see him today and am happier to report that nothing has changed at all, ” she wrote. “Not one little bit.”

“To all of you who enjoyed watching us develop a truly magical friendship all those years ago, here we are again.”

Did Chrissie Swan Quit Drinking?

A better question would be: what isn’t Chrissie Swan doing?

One of the main topics surrounding Swan in 2023, has been her body transformation.

During a candid interview on The Imperfects podcast, Swan spoke emotionally about her lowest point before deciding to make a lifestyle change. She revealed that she woke up one day, at 45 years of age, and realised, “I reckon I’m halfway to dying, if I’m lucky.” This urged her to make a decision to start walking every day, a moment she says “changed everything.”

“I get emotional thinking about it because walking has absolutely changed my life,” Swan said on the podcast ep through tears. “It’s hard to make changes and look at stuff, you know, you don’t want to do it, you want to stay in the whirlpool because it makes everybody happy. But nowadays I’m so attuned, and if something feels wrong, I say, ‘I’m going to walk on it.’ And sometimes that takes an hour, sometimes it takes 10km every day for a month, but I get the answer.”

In Swan’s decision to make that lifestyle change, she also quit drinking, which she revealed on “The Project” back in late 2021. “It was a decision I made for myself after giving it a fair nudge in the first lockdown last year,” she told viewers at the time.

Who Is Chrissie Swan’s Partner?

Chrissie Swan has three children with her former partner of 15 years, Chris Saville. Chris is a former executive producer at the Australian radio network Southern Cross Austereo and has worked on many of Chrissie’s radio shows. However, Chrissie Swan and Chris Saville divorced in 2021, after months of speculation.

While Chrissie Swan isn’t known to have a current partner, she’s certainly found a new sense of self.

“I realised I liked being alone. It’s very important for me to be by myself,” she told 7News.

“I think a lot of women can relate to this. You meet someone and you have kids and you’re never alone again. Literally, never alone.”
