We highly suggest you start brushing up on your Frank Ocean lyrics, because the 33-year-old musician will be headlining Coachella in 2023. Ocean was set to perform at the 2020 festival before it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ocean first performed at Coachella back in 2012, though his 2023 performance will be his first time headlining the event.
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Coachella cofounder Paul Tollett noted that he would normally never reveal the name of a performer so far in advance, but given the uncertainty of the past year and a half, he believes fans deserve hope for the future. “Right now, it’s the Wild West,” Tollett said. “I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually they get to see everyone that we talked about.”
Coachella’s last festival took place in 2019 and it’s currently set to return in April 2022, with Rage Against the Machine and Travis Scott serving as headliners. Meanwhile, the rest of Coachella’s 2023 lineup has yet to be announced.
