How Did Liam and Miley Meet?

As we mentioned above, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus met on the set of “The Last Song”, where they played on-screen lovers. A Hollywood meet-cute as classic as they come.

The film is based on a novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks, and follows a rebellious teenage girl named Ronnie Miller (played by Miley Cyrus) who is sent to spend the summer with her estranged father (played by Greg Kinnear) in a small beach town. While there, Ronnie meets and falls in love with a local boy named Will Blakelee (played by Liam Hemsworth), and they embark on a summer romance.

Miley and Liam became publicly linked in 2010, after they were spotted together during the filming of “The Last Song”. The two were frequently seen together at events together throughout filming and into the press junket.

They didn’t leave us guessing for long, confirming their relationship to the magazine “E!” in March 2010, during an interview at the Academy Awards ceremony. When asked if they were a couple, they both acknowledged their relationship, with Cyrus saying, “Yes, we’re together and we’re very happy.”

In one specific interview with Graham Norton, Cyrus is asked if there could possibly be “wedding bells”, with Norton encouraging Miley Cyrus to marry Liam Hemsworth because “it’s as good as it’s going to get”.

Cyrus seemed hesitant to answer, perhaps some foreshadowing for what was to come?

2012

Liam Hemsworth popped the question on May 31, 2012, at their home in LA.

According to reports, Hemsworth wanted the proposal to be “perfect,” so he spent weeks planning it. He reportedly cooked a romantic meal for Cyrus and decorated the house with candles and flowers. After dinner, Hemsworth got down on one knee and popped the question.

Basically, when Liam Hemsworth and Jennifer Lawrence starred together in “The Hunger Games”, fans couldn’t help but notice the electric chemistry between them. Rumours soon started to circulate that Hemsworth and Lawrence were more than just co-stars — that they were actually involved in a secret romance behind the scenes.

Despite the rumours, both Hemsworth and Lawrence denied any romantic involvement between them. As you’ll remember from above, Hemsworth was still engaged to Miley Cyrus in 2012, the year he started working in the “Hunger Games” franchise. But as you’ll also remember, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus broke off their engagement a year later, in 2013. Many fans have speculated that Hemsworth’s relationship with Lawrence was the catalyst for this.

And, in Cyrus’s new music video for “Flowers”, she wears a gold dress that strikes undeniable resemblance to Lawrence’s red carpet look during “The Hunger Games” press, in 2012 — when the affair was rumoured to have started.

So naturally, internet sleuths and Miley Cyrus fans went into a frenzy looking for evidence. This led to a video from “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” 2015 resurfacing, of Jennifer Lawrence admitting that she and Hemsworth kissed “when the cameras weren’t rolling”. No further details were revealed, but we can assume that the kiss occurred sometime between 2012 – 2015, while the pair were filming together.

Given that Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus weren’t together between 2013 – 2016, the kiss between Hemsworth and Lawrence could’ve very well fallen in that window. So did Liam Hemsworth cheat on Miley Cyrus? This could mean that no, he did not.

But, the jury’s still out.

There was also chatter around infidelity on Hemworth’s part, with actresses including January Jones, Eiza González, and Nina Dobrev. So did Liam Hemsworth cheat on Miley Cyrus, or did he not? Nothing has ever been confirmed, but the rumour mill was pretty consistent throughout their relationship.
