Drama, love, betrayal, parties, hookups – and that’s just scratching the surface of the second season of Euphoria! Amongst all of the wild antics on the show, we’ve been blessed this season with a new face that you’re probably already in love with and intrigued by. Elliot, a new student at East Highland High School, has already found himself entangled with the show’s main protagonist, Rue. Elliot is already capturing the hearts of Euphoria-lovers (as a Euphoria-lover myself, I fully back this claim), despite the influence his character may have on her.
Thanks can be given to actor Dominic Fike for bringing this interesting and unique character to life. Although Euphoria marks Fike’s acting debut, this isn’t the first time this celeb has been behind a camera (more on that later)! Fike and his captivating performance on screen in the first few episodes of season two are hinting that Elliot is definitely going to play a major role in this season of Euphoria. Before Acting, He Got His Start in Music
It’s undeniable that Fike brings a certain magic on screen, but it turns out that he also knows how to captivate an audience on stage thanks to his background in music. He learned how to play the guitar by the age of 10 and has had incredible success with his music career. His song “Babydoll” has gotten over 70 million listens on Spotify, and he’s even been featured on Justin Bieber’s song “Die For You.” Hopefully we’ll get to hear some of his singing on Euphoria!

Elliot Reminds Him a Lot of His Younger Self
During an interview with Variety, Fike claimed that his character on Euphoria is very reminiscent of how he used to act as a teen. “I don’t have to do much acting,” Fike told Variety. “He’s exactly like me. It’s shit I would say and shit I would do.” However, a major difference between he and Elliot is that Fike is now sober. He states that his sobriety has put him in a better headspace that allows for more creativity. “I’m in overdrive,” he said. “I feel like I can work forever and do anything.”

Music Has Helped Him Work Through His Anxiety
Fike’s songwriting and music have helped him deal with his mental health and anxiety. During an interview with Apple Music, Fike explained that he leans into his anxieties to create music. “Those are good for songwriting – there are a lot of songs on [the album] that are made with anxiety,” he said. In a separate interview with Kevin Abstract, Fike also talked about how performing was cathartic for him. “I guess I am just always anxious, except for when I get on stage; it disappears right when I’m there,” Fike said.

He Has at Least 10 Tattoos
It’s hard to miss Fike’s unique tattoos on screen. One of his most notable tattoos is a small apple logo underneath his eye. The tattoo is a tribute to his sister, whose name is Apple. Fike told Complex that the logo “serves as a reminder for what he’s working for.”

He Originally Auditioned For Season 1 of Euphoria
During an interview with Variety, Fike mentioned that he was contacted by casting director Jennifer Venditti for the original round of auditions and was asked come in and read for a role. He made it all the way to the final round of auditions before his character was unfortunately removed from the show. A year later, HBO reached out again, and Fike auditioned for his current role of Elliot.
