Spice Girl Emma Bunton has married her partner of 23 years, Damage singer Jade Jones.
The couple announced the news today with a happy snap of the couple surrounded by beautiful foliage. Emma captioned the photo simply “Mr and Mrs Jones”.
The couple began their relationship in 1998 and had a bit of an off-again, on-again romance back in the day. They broke up in 1999, got back together in 2000, broke up again in 2002 and got back together in 2004.
Since then, things have been smooth sailing, though. The couple welcomed their first son, Beau Lee, in 2007, and their second, Tate Lee, in 2011.
The couple got engaged in 2011, but originally had no plans to marry, with Emma saying at the time that they didn’t “need a wedding to justify [their] relationship”. However, around 2017 Emma seemed to change her tune, saying: “it would be nice, wouldn’t it?”
“I should get round to it,” she said, adding, “He already calls me his wife and I call him my husband”.
The reason the engagement was 10 years long? According to Emma, it was in the stars!
“We’re both Aquarians and a little disorganised, so we never get round to organise anything!” she said, adding, “I’m sure we’ll be one of those couples that elope somewhere.”
While there aren’t a lot of details about the couple’s wedding yet, her friends–including fellow Spice Girl Victoria Beckham–have been sending their congratulations and well wishes.
“Congratulations,” wrote Victoria, adding some party emojis, “love u both so much!! X”.
Peter Andre left three heart emojis, while All Saints member Nicole Appleton wrote: “Just wonderful!! Congratulations to you all!! Sooo beautiful, sending soo much love” with four hearts.
Congrats to the happy couple!
