Get ready to experience the magic of Disney once again, because the trailer for the new animated feature film Encanto has been released. The movie centres around the Madrigals, an extraordinary family who live in a magical place called an Encanto.
Each child has been gifted with a unique superpower, except one — Mirabel. While she questions her lack of magical abilities, Mirabel is the family’s only hope when their home is threatened.
Starring Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as the voice of Mirabel, the movie is going to fast become a family favourite.
Of course, no Disney movie is complete without songs you can sing along to, and Encanto has music written by the very best.
Lin-Manuel Mirana (Hamilton, Moana) is back, and he’s lending his talent to Encanto. Directed by Byron Howard (Zootopia, Tangled) and Jared Bush (co-director Zootopia), the filmmakers revealed they were heavily inspired after visiting Colombia for a research trip.
Actor John Leguizamo (Ice Age) is also part of the star-studded ensemble, voicing uncle Bruno, whose conspiracies aren’t exactly welcomed by the rest of the family.
“I was so pumped to be asked to the party,” said Leguizamo. “Lin-Manuel [Miranda] wrote me a rap, and I flipped out! Plus, this is such a beautiful story set in Colombia. It’s a first in so many ways. The magic is enchanting, the comedy is so sharp, and the world created is irresistible.”
During the film’s creation, the team collaborated with a number of expert consultants to bring the movie to life.

Encanto will be in cinemas on December 2, 2021.
