Get Ready, Fantastic Beasts 3 Is Taking Us Back to the Wizarding World – Watch the Trailer

Get ready to head back to the wizarding world, because the third instalment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is finally on the way. Warner Bros. announced a handful of details about the upcoming film back in September, including the official title and a new release date. After being previously scheduled to hit theaters on July 15, 2022, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will now drop three months earlier.
The first official trailer for the new film also arrived on Dec. 13, and it gives us a glimpse of Mads Mikkelsen debuting as Gellert Grindelwald – the villain role previously played by Johnny Depp in the first two movies. We also see the veteran cast – which includes Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, and Callum Turner – return to defeat the dangerous wizard. The upcoming movie follows after the events that transpired in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Fantastic Beasts 3 Plot
According to Variety, the official logline for the film reads: “Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?”

Fantastic Beasts 3 Setting
Just like the first two films, which were set in NYC and Paris, respectively, the third film will jump to a new location, taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

David Yates, who previously worked on the past two Fantastic Beasts movies and a handful of Harry Potter films, will return to direct the third film.

Fantastic Beasts 3 Cast
In November 2020, it was announced that Mads Mikkelsen would be replacing Johnny Depp as Grindelwald in the third film. The rest of the cast includes Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander), Jude Law (Albus Dumbledore), Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein), Ezra Miller (Credence Barebone), Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) as well as Jessica Williams as Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks, who will have a significantly larger role in this film.
