Farmer Wants a Wife is all set to kick off shortly, so there’s never been a better time to get to know the farmers who’ll be looking for love this year.
Meet Farmer Harry, a 23-year-old dairy farmer from Kyabram, Victoria. He has a Bachelor’s degree in agribusiness, and is currently studying to obtain a Certificate III in regenerative agriculture. When it comes to his career, it looks like things are going to be smooth sailing for Harry, but when it comes to love, that’s a different matter.
Now, Farmer Harry is ready to meet someone, and he hopes that will happen on Farmer Wants a Wife.
“I’m looking for someone who will be honest, knows how to let their hair down, and have fun while also bringing a positive attitude to their life,” Farmer Harry said in a press statement. “I want someone who loves to be active and enjoys quality time with their partner as I’m super keen to travel sometime in the near future. I would love to share the experience with someone special.”
Farmer Harry values people who are “thoughtful of others” while also being “fun to be around”, adding: “I love a gal who can let her hair down and have a laugh.”
Still, communication is key, and for Harry, it’s important that his future partner is “someone who is open and can have healthy discussions and be willing to compromise when it comes to conflict within a relationship”.
Of course, that compromise goes both ways, and Harry said he also wants “to learn from [his] relationship and be challenged on [his] views in a respectful matter”.
“From that, I hope to grow and become a better person,” he added.

When Farmer Harry isn’t busy on the farm, he enjoys “listening to music, catching up with mates on the weekend, and being outdoors while being active”.
Even better, he likes to cook, and Italian is his favourite cuisine.
While he doesn’t have any children just yet, he’s “very keen” to have some in the future, although he “can’t really put a time frame on when” just yet.
“I have a deep passion for regenerative agriculture as I love the idea of passing the farm down to my children,” he explained. “I see farming practices that not only care for the land but also improve the landscape as integral to the longevity of my family farm and lifestyle.”
When it comes to relationships, Harry is all about quality time, and “doing little random acts of kindness to help brighten one another’s day”.
“I can be very affectionate as I love to cuddle up on the couch to watch some TV,” he said, adding: “Helping my partner with chores or work out of love, not obligation, is a big thing for me.”
As for where he sees himself in five years’ time, Harry’s hoping to be “well and truly settled down” by then, with “the right lady” and a dog.
“Hopefully, we will at least be thinking of starting our family together, while also having done a bit of travelling around the Northern Territory and America,” he mused. “It’s always been my dream since I was a kid to visit Wyoming and Montana as I have family there though I’ve never met them.”
Of course, Farmer Harry is just one of the five farmers who’ll be on the lookout for love this season on Farmer Wants a Wife.
The other farmers include Farmer Ben, from Wingham, NSW, Farmer Will, 26, from Berriwillock, VIC, Farmer Benjamin, 33, from Guyra, NSW, , and Farmer Paige — the show’s first female farmer — who’s 28 and from Cassilis, NSW.
