When the original series of Gossip Girl aired from 2007 to 2012, it was deemed pretty raunchy, especially as the characters were in high school when the show started.
Starting with Serena’s saucy (and sinful) escapade with Nate atop that bar, the OG run definitely dialled up the heat — but apparently, that was nothing!
A select lucky few who have seen the first episode of the hotly anticipated reboot have reported that we have scenes comparable to “soft porn” to look forward to. As if we weren’t already excited enough!
One scene, reportedly, involves Audrey Hope (Emily Alyn Lind) hooking up with one guy in the middle of a club they’ve sneaked into, as she stares at another guy she’s that she’s attracted to. Another scene is said to feature Max Wolfe (Thomas Doherty) enjoying the affections of both a guy and girl simultaneously.
Perhaps Gossip Girl — voiced once more by Kristen Bell — should change her iconic sign off from “XOXO” to “XXX”?
“On Gossip Girl, the new show is really cool because it talks all about how social media has changed us, and it’s more risqué because it’s on HBO Max, and there’s a twist at the end of episode one that’s really different,” she revealed. “So that’s fun.”
In Australia, Gossip Girl will begin streaming on BINGEon July 8.
