Harrison Ford and Wife Calista Flockhart Walk First Red Carpet as a Couple in Nearly 5 Years
Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart returned to the red carpet together for the first time in almost five years to celebrate the world premiere of “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The Hollywood couple, who tied the knot in 2010 after eight years of dating, flocked to the South of France on May 18 in matching black looks for the annual event – which could mark Ford’s final “Indiana Jones” film shown there – and they looked joyful as ever as they held hands and posed for cameras.
Though Ford, 80, has attended numerous Hollywood events recently to promote his Indiana Jones reprisal, he and his wife haven’t appeared on a red carpet together since the Academy’s 10th annual Governors Awards in November 2018. Before they wed, Ford had been married twice to Mary Marquardt and Melissa Mathison, and he welcomed four kids from those relationships. He later adopted Flockhart’s son Liam, whom she adopted in 2001. Before they arrived at Cannes, Flockhart’s stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, posted a carousel of photos on Instagram of the married couple in what appears to be their hotel room, which included one snap of a blown-away Ford peeking in the room as Flockhart, 58, had solo pictures taken.
Before heading off to the “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” screening, Ford told reporters on the red carpet that he “was very proud of” the franchise’s final movie, per People. “You don’t make a film for yourself, you make it for an audience,” he added. “This is the first time I’ve seen it with a proper audience and it was very gratifying.” Following the film’s Cannes debut, Variety reported that it received a five-minute standing ovation as Ford fought back tears.
Ford and Flockhart weren’t the only stars to have a red carpet moment at Cannes. Viola Davis left her husband, fellow actor Julius Tennon, in awe with her white feathery Valentino gown on May 17. Meanwhile, Uma Thurman and son Levon Hawke, as well as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas, and their daughter Carys Zeta Douglas made the event a family affair the day before.
