Harry Styles may not be using his pandemic downtime to record his third album (that we know of!) but rather using the lull to build his on-screen portfolio. And by that, we mean star in movie after movie.
After wrapping up filming on the thriller Don’t Worry Darling — where he met his current girlfriend, Olivia Wilde — he’s now started filming for another production, My Policeman.
Based on the 2012 novel by the same name, the film explores love and homosexuality in 1950s England — a time when this was still seen as taboo. Styles will be playing gay policeman Tim Burgess.
The latest news to come out of filming is that the Grammy award-winning artist is set to bare all for the role, in some steamy sex scenes. Like his Watermelon Sugar music video — and all that innuendo — didn’t take us out enough.
According to The Sun, where the news first broke, the “passionate X-rated sex scenes” will see Styles and his co-star David Dawson engage in two nude scenes together, which the director hopes will appear as “real as possible”. An unnamed source says there will also be a scene where Styles is naked on his own.
“He always wants to do things that people wouldn’t expect and challenge what people think about him — and this film will really do that,” the source told the publication. Our boy is apparently “throwing himself” into the role and is “really excited about the challenge, even though it’s a daunting task”.
My Policeman will be filmed on a closed set, so don’t expect to get any sneak peeks before the movie comes out in 2022 — when you’ll see us really throwing ourselves at the screen.
