Hilary Duff‘s bundle of joy is finally here! The former Lizzie McGuire star, 36, announced the arrival of her fourth child, who was born on May 3. Alongside snapshots of her intimate home water birth, the actress penned a heartfelt caption celebrating the newest addition to their family.
Sharing the joyous news on Instagram, Duff treated her followers to heartwarming, black-and-white snapshots of her water birth.
“‘Townes Meadow Bair ?, now we know why she made us wait so long… She was perfecting those cheeks!’” Duff captioned the photos, capturing the joyous moment with husband Matthew Koma cradling their newborn.
“I have been dreaming of holding you in my arms for months, and the past five days of getting to know you, stare at you and smell you has been pure moments of magic,” Duff shared. “We all love you like you’ve been here all along beauty.”
With Koma, Duff shares daughters Banks Violet Bair, 5, and 3-year-old Mae James Bair. While she also has a 12-year-old son named Luca from her previous marriage to former National Hockey League player Mike Comrie.
Duff announced her pregnancy with Townes in December, sharing her family’s 2023 holiday card on Instagram with the caption, “So much for silent nights… Buckle up buttercups, we’re adding one more to this crazy bunch!”
Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma Began Dating in 2017
The couple, who started dating in 2017, sealed the deal with an engagement and wedding in 2019. As they gear up to celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary in December, the “Come Clean” singer and her Eve 6 band member husband continue to share glimpses of their family’s journey on social media.
Not ones to shy away from some good-natured teasing, Hilary and Matthew often use their online platforms to share the highs and lows of family life. Last year, on their third wedding anniversary, the couple poured their hearts out to each other on Instagram.
“Matthew, I love you so much. Happy 3 years! I don’t know if you knew what you were getting into or that you weren’t going to sleep or sit down for the next 5-10 years, but I think for the most part you’re pretty happy about it,” Duff gushed in her tribute. “Our life is so full, and I’m over the top grateful for the guy that I got to do all this madness with.”
The post included a collage of pictures, featuring moments from their wedding day, family snapshots, and sweet selfies from the early days of their romance.
