Attention: The New Season of Beauty and the Geek Is Just Around the Corner
As we head into our winter telly season, we’re getting ready to cozy up with Beauty and the Geek.
The 2021 reboot will pair 10 beauties with 10 geeks together, and as worlds collide, we’ll watch seemingly unlikely love connections form.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Beauty and the Geek without a makeover moment and a few WTF moments from each side, as the beauties and geeks get to know each other.
Our self-confessed dork of a host, Sophie Monk, said in a statement that “a lot has changed since Beauty and the Geek was last on our screens.
“Today, geeks run the world and beauties are far more than just a pretty face,” she explained.
Excited, Monk continued: “I can’t wait for audiences to watch on as they embark on a journey of self-discovery and see if we’re able to answer the age-old question – can opposites attract?”
So here’s how it works: the beauties and geeks are given a series of real-life challenges, and as they work through them and get to know one another, we get to see whether there’s a connection that overcome their differences.
If a couple wins one of the challenges, they then get to go on a one-on-one date to see if there’s a romantic spark that could blossom into something more. On the other hand, the two couples who land in the bottom will have to compete in a head-to-head challenge, and the couple that loses that will be sent packing. Then, final couple left standing at the end of the series will take home the $100,00 prize!
It’s a show that’s all about stepping outside of your comfort zone and discovering new sides of yourself, and opening yourself up to new possibilities along the way.
We’ll see a theme park princess and a maths teacher, a red carpet reporter and an ER doctor who loves wrestling, and a gym bunny and a law graduate, all of which are sure to make for great viewing!
TBH, we can’t wait.
Beauty and the Geek premieres on Sunday, July 11, at 7.00pm on Channel 9.
