Harry Garside

Harry Garside made a name for himself in the world of boxing by earning the men’s lightweight bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, which was Australia’s first Olympic boxing medal in 30 years.

However, Harry’s life goes beyond that of a typical boxer. He is breaking barriers and teaching younger generations to never be afraid to let their light shine. Growing up in the working-class town of Lilydale, Victoria, Harry was the youngest of three boys.

He was a unique child who preferred spending time with his mother instead of engaging in rough play with his brothers. Thus, it was surprising when he announced his interest in boxing at the age of nine.

From that moment on, he was captivated. Not only has Harry Garside made headlines for his boxing career, but he has also gained attention for his effort to challenge gender stereotypes and serve as a role model for young men who feel a little different.

Harry is unafraid to don a skirt, wear nail polish, or walk down the runway of a fashion show.

“Many people believe they must fit a certain mould because of their gender. I’m all about embracing differences,” he said in a press release.

“I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” airs at 7.30pm, Sunday – Thursdays, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand.
