Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin never fail to put a smile on our faces. In March 2017, Tomlin told the Washington Post that she’s been friends with Fonda since they starred in the 1980 film “9 to 5” together. “We’re friends because I just love her. I know Jane has my back whenever she can,” the actress gushed.
Their friendship has only gotten stronger over time. Fonda opened up about her and Tomlin’s decades-long bond in a May 2022 interview with the LA Times. “You know, there was a medical study done at Harvard that showed that lack of women friendship was as bad for their health as smoking. So, you know, I think I’m going to live a long time because I have Lily as a friend,” she said.
Because the duo works so well together, it’s no wonder they’ve teamed up again and again over the years. From 2015 to 2021, Fonda and Tomlin costarred in the Netflix series “Grace and Frankie” together. Most recently, they’ve reunited for the film “Moving On,” which centers around two women out for sweet revenge.
