2004/2005: Though Momoa later admitted to Esquire that he had a crush on Bonet way back when she was on The Cosby Show throughout the ’80s, the two didn’t actually meet and connect until later. Reports are mixed about whether they met in 2004 or 2005, but it was definitely at an LA jazz club. Momoa said on The Late Late Show in 2017 that their first meeting practically blew his mind. “I turned to my friend and was like [fakes screaming]. I had f*cking fireworks going off inside, man.”
Bonet was a little more reserved about their first meeting but admits that they were essentially together from that day forward. “I can’t say it was full-on from the moment we saw each other, but we have been together from the day that we met,” she told Porter in 2018.

Both Bonet and Momoa starred in Road to Paloma in 2014, and Momoa also wrote and directed the film. They also worked on the TV show Red Road together around this time.
