Jeremy Allen White‘s love story with his wife, Addison Timlin, is the epitome of modern-day romance. While many may think the pair first met in the late aughts when the two appeared in the 2008 film “Afterschool” together, they actually met long before that.
The actors fell in love in 2005 during their freshman year while attending the same performing-arts high school in New York City, but they didn’t start dating at the time because . . . well, they were high-school freshmen, and life happens. They had a falling out, but then they got cast in “Afterschool,” which brought them back together. Their journeys in, and out, and then back in to each other’s lives would ultimately serve as a strong foundation for lifelong love and commitment.
While Timlin and White – whose highly acclaimed new drama, “The Bear,” was just renewed for season two – have mostly kept their swoon-worthy romance out of the limelight, they’ve shared many glimpses of their ever-evolving relationship through social media. 2004: Jeremy Allen White and Addison Timlin Meet in High School
White and Timlin met when White transferred to Timlin’s performing-arts high school in NYC in the middle of their freshman year, a moment Timlin described as “love at first sight” during their joint interview for a July 2019 episode of the “Showmance” podcast. “He has really blue eyes and his blue shirt brought out the blue eyes. And he had really long hair, and that was really cool,” Timlin said. “He came in hot, so to speak, and [me and my classmates] were all so in love with him.”
While the pair didn’t date because Timlin had an off-and-on boyfriend at the time and, well, they were awkward 13-year-olds, they still became inseparable. “We spent all our time together. We cut school together. We got in trouble together, smoked pot together,” Timlin said.
When Timlin decided to transfer schools when she was 15, the pair got into a fight fueled by teenage angst. “I had just transferred midway through the year, we connected, and then she was like, ‘Bye! See ya later!’ And was just like, ‘But I just found you!'” White said of their falling out. “She did go to school like 20 blocks away,” he added, acknowledging the whole thing might have been a tad dramatic.

The cute couple graced the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of White’s hit FX drama “The Bear.” Timlin proudly gushed about her husband’s awe-inspiring performance in the hit show. “Today is the day ‘The Bear’ comes out of the brilliant minds and open hearts and onto your tv screen. It is always a privilege to witness the work Jeremy puts in and the result will always take my breathe away,” the actress shared on Instagram when “The Bear” premiered. “Congratulations to the whole team but to Jeremy especially, watching your dreams come true will always put a fire in my heart. I am infinitely proud and also very pleased to turn to you and say-I told you so.”
